Leadership Qualities: Non Leverage Of Strengths
Another leadership quality that I have is the ability to maintain a non biased stance in most of the work that I do. This leadership quality is important in relationship building. I am a case manager and my job is to help people set and meet goals which runs parallel to the work a transformational leader does. There are many instances where remaining neutral as a leader can be a strength.
Leverage of Strengths
Two leadership qualities that I identified are the ability to gain and maintain trust and maintain a non biased stance. When I envision myself as a future leader, I see a non judgmental, even kilter, mellow, relatable, and inspiring leader. I hope to lead by example by working hard and maintaining a great attitude. I will keep the interest of the organization in mind. To do so I will need to be sure to always choose work that lines up with my personal beliefs and serves a purpose that is close to my heart. When I do work that is important to me it will be easy to display my passions which will help me to gain and maintain the trust of the people I am leading. Listening is so powerful and I have come to learn that it is difficult. I have the tendency to cut people off while they are talking which is something no one likes. It is rude and makes people feel unimportant. Through simple active listening techniques, not only could I validate someone but I may learn valuable information that may be useful in leadership.
Another skill I would like to strengthen is time management. There is never enough time in a day when it comes to work. It would feel nice to know that at the end of each day, I put effort in to attempting to complete as many tasks as possible in a timely manner. Developing this skill would also make me a more productive

Leadership can be defined as a function of knowing yourself, having a vision that is well communicated, building trust among colleagues, and taking effective action to realize your own leadership potential. All leaders essentially strive to complete the same tasks: provide direction, set goals, make a vision, build a positive environment, instill values, motivate, resolve conflict, and teach. James Kouzes and Barry Posner (2002) developed a survey that asked people which characteristics of leaders they look for, admire and would willingly follow. The results of the study showed that people preferred the following characteristics: honest,…

The three characteristics of leadership that I consider most valuable are (1) integrity, (2) humility, and (3) generosity. #1 integrity is defined as great sincerity, honesty, and virtue. Strength of character. All of these words describe great qualities that should be possessed or obtained in the individual or individuals considered to fill a leadership role with exceptional expectations! Great sincerity means that a person possesses honest, faithful, and genuine traits. Virtue is defined as moral excellence, morality, goodness, effectiveness of quality, purity and chastity, and innocence. #2 Humility, refers to being the condition or quality of being humble. #3 Generosity, to share or give without hesitation, unselfish, not mean or narrow-minded; forgiving!…

My strongest leadership qualities include sympathy for others, perseverance, and motivation. When I see others in need of help, I am able to sympathize with them and I become motivated and driven to seek help for them. I persevere, and give my best effort until I feel I have done what I can. My leading by example inspires others to pitch in too, and together we can rise up to the cause. This can be seen in many famous instances of bravery and leadership, such as with Dian Fossey and her fight to end gorilla slaughter. These qualities are very important not only to be a good leader, but a good person as…

Active listening is one of the key concepts to successful communication. Active listening is a person’s willingness and ability to hear and understand (Hoppe, 2006). Six skills make up active listening: paying attention, holding judgment, reflecting, clarifying, summarizing, and sharing. One important aspect of paying attention is being quiet. Many times we want to answer a question before it is done being asked. We have to put ourselves in the mind-set of wanting to listen and hear a point of view other than our own. Along those lines is the skill of holding judgment, or also know as, having an open mind. Good listeners with strong view need to hold criticism and judgment. Putting yourself in the other person’s shoes can help with this aspect as well as practicing patience.…

Listening is often a neglectful skill. There are several important steps to remember when trying to achieve effective listening. Many positive outcomes result from effective listening.
