The four qualities a leader should possess strength, intelligance, compassion, and most importantly courage. A leader who possesses these qualities is a good example of a leader who can lead their group wisely and carefully. Odysseus has all the qualities that a good leader should obtain in order to lead a group. The four qualities a leader should possess are: strength, intelligence, compassion and should be courageous. If he is scared to face something then he is not courageous. Also, the leader must have intelligence and compassion towards the group. They must be able to think quickly and come up with a solution in case of an emergency. Having compassion means you care about others and put their needs before your own. I believe Odysseus has strength because it says," I drove my big hand spike deep in the embers, charring again." This quote shows that he had the strength to carry and stab the spear into the cyclope. I tied them silently together , twinning cords of willow from the ogre's bed...", this quote proves that Odysseus had the courage to go in by the ogre and risk his life for his men. . Lastly , it says," Then he dismembered them and made his meal... we cried aloud..." , with this quote it shows that Odysseus cared about his mean and was upset that they got eaten, showing he had compassion towards his

There are a myriad of qualities that form effective leadership. It may never be agreed upon whether leadership arises from a set of innate characteristics ("leaders are born") or, rather, from observable actions ("leaders are made"). Some basic leadership qualities, however, seem almost universal, no matter the leader or type of group they head: Good communication skills, the ability to constructively deal with a variety of personalities, and the mental toughness to shoulder responsibility and weather criticism. Certain personality traits are also required, such as, having a sense of humor, trustworthiness and general good people skills. The traits of a good leader, and the common thread in any leadership model, is that the traits of a leader are the product of one of three broad bases of knowledge: First, knowledge of the group; next, knowledge of the goals of the group; and finally, and perhaps the most important, the leader's knowledge of his or her self.…

As much as we might wish otherwise, not everyone has the essential characteristics or traits that come with being a proper leader. Some of the most important ones are integrity, optimism, and consideration. Integrity is very important as it ensures that the leader puts the group in one of their first priorities, and they understand the group itself (its limitations, goals, and guidelines). Optimism is big. When all your followers gaze at their leader, they need to know they are being led by a strong individual; not someone that always dwells on the negative side of things. There is always a positive side to things and sometimes the group needs to hear it from the person they look up to. Consideration for the group is another big trait for any leader. Leaders should always be on the lookout for any problems within the group, no matter how big or small. Examples of such problems include but are not limited to, disagreements, decline in well-being, disinterest in group, and lack of team effort.…

Determination is a key factor in leading others. Determination gives a person the ability to fight through obstacles and accomplish tasks that are best for the organization and its employees. Honesty is one characteristic I think is the most important. Honesty distinguishes between leaders with good ethics and bad ethics. If a person is lacking honesty, the direction of their leadership can blindly take an organization into a dangerous cause and values. Loyalty is also important in a leader because a person that has no loyalty can harm an organization more than it can help. The leader’s agenda may be for their own benefit and not what is best for the organization. A non-loyal leader could literally trade secrets that could financially or publicly destroy a company.…
