Odysseus Leadership Qualities
A good leader should have four qualities to prove that they are capable of leading a group. The four qualities a leader should possess strength, intelligance, compassion, and most importantly courage. A leader who possesses these qualities is a good example of a leader who can lead their group wisely and carefully. Odysseus has all the qualities that a good leader should obtain in order to lead a group. The four qualities a leader should possess are: strength,intelligence,compassion and should be courageous. He has strength because he helps his team out of the situations they face on their journey. By doing that he has to be courageous and not fear anything. If he is scared to face something then he is not courageous. Also, the leader must have intelligence and compassion towards the group. They must be able to think quickly and come up with a solution in case of an emergency. Having compassion means you care about others and put their needs before your own. I believe Odysseus has strength because it says," I drove my big hand spike deep in the embers, charring again." This quote shows that he had the strength to carry and stab the spear into the cyclope. Odysseus also has intelligence because it says "... going forward I carried wax along the line , and laid it thick on their ears." This quote let me know that he had the knowledge to get wax to prevent from listening to the sirens. "... I tied them silently together , twinning cords of willow from the ogre's bed...", this quote proves that Odysseus had the courage to go in by the ogre and risk his life for his men. . Lastly , it says," Then he dismembered them and made his meal... we cried aloud..." , with this quote it shows that Odysseus cared about his mean and was upset that they got eaten, showing he had compassion towards his
