Criteria 1.1

Define and give example of leadership characteristics.

Answer: Leadership is a process where an individual influences a group of people from different background to achieve the common goal which will get set by the leader by motivating the individuals in group and guiding them. the characteristics which a leader should have to make his/her group work are the following: Communication:

Effective communication keeps the team working towards the common goal with right attitude. he/she must be able to speak clearly in order to make the vision clear of how to achieve the goal. Flexibility:

By being flexible you be able be open minded and think of ideas to achieve the goal. The leader should be able to adapt him/her self with people from different background to achieve the goal. Problem solver:

the leader should be able to think of a solution if any problem appears which prevents them to achieve the goal of the team. Confident:
the leader should be confident because he needs to be stronger to make his team more stronger and stay as unity to achieve the common goal which was set by the leader. The leader should be sure of how to achieve the goal. Time management skills:

the leader should be able to accomplish either the task or goal and meet the deadline on the right time in order to see if they need to improve or work on their project any more. Respectful:
the leader should respect the individual for who they are and where they are from. The leader should also listen to their ideas that they would like to contribute in order to achieve the goal.

Criteria 1.2

select an organisation and relate the examples of leadership characteristics identified in criteria 1.1 to it's leader.

Answer:I have chosen bank as my organisation which I will relate bank managers to the example of leadership characteristics identified in criteria 1.1 to it's leader. The banker needs to have those characteristics because if they don't have those characteristics, they may face problems and that may lead them towards not achieving their goals. A bank manager needs to have good communication because if the manager don't have good communication then it won't attract the clients/customer in which case the bank may give redundancy to the manager as he is not giving customers/clients to bank. The bank manager should be open minded and should be able to think of ideas in how to attract customers towards the bank they are working for. he/she should be able to adapt the environment where they may find people from different background to achieve their goal. The manager should be problem solver, as they may face problems where their customers may have complain and is not able to be calmed by no one; then you should be able to try to talk to customer and try to overcome the problem to make customer satisfied. The manager should be confident because if he/she is not confident, they are more likely not to talk much and could shy by which it means they may not able comfortable talking to anyone. The manager should have good time management skills to accomplish all the task on time if there are not he/she may be given warning for not doing the task on time. The manager should be respectful to every person and for who they are, by this customers will feel comfortable and would recommend other people to open an account in this bank.
