What is the difference between Poetry and Song Lyrics? This is one of the questions asked by people. Some people said that poem can be a lyrics and a lyrics is poem. But in some cases, they have lots of differences, such as a writer and a singer. On this case, we must need to find out if we have a big understanding about poetry and a song lyrics. Some others believe that Poet are writers and a Song lyrics is composed of artist and performer, which doesn’t explain anything.
First and foremost, poem is made by poets. Poet is a key word for poetry, which means poetry is made by writers. It is said that “poem is basically dictated by the number of syllables in a line” by Franklin Williamson (http://www.musesmuse.com/poemvslyric.html). It is very identical that numbers of syllables in the line, means that the quantity of letters is not very important, as long as there are mysteries behind. Which means, three or two syllables is enough to write a poem? But it doesn’t explain too much. In some cases, poets can make a word very superficial and sensitive to define a phrase. You can even write a whole essay in a one whole sheet of poem and sometimes thesis can be made because poets are hard to understand. For example, “Love is Freedom” and “Freedom is Love.” We can assure that this phrase is very general in the way of our own perspective. But for poets, they will declare that it has big difference. They can “say love is not freedom but love can set you free.” Others say, “Love is boastful” quote by Nicholas Sparks. But on the other hand, “Love is Enemy” by Shakespeare. How can love set you free if it’s your enemy? So, writers can make arguments if the poem is very complicated and poem doesn’t have an outstanding reasons to identify. Word for word should be analysed and each phases should be modify. It is clear that the poem has its own world which has many definitions behind....
