Overview of a training course which I intend to run for a group of adults in the future and which incorporates the key principals of good training practice.

Introduction:

One of the most difficult tasks for managers/ small business owners is learning to delegate and distribute the work load among the employees they supervise. The difficulty is often due to the manager using the skills they have – such as job knowledge, competent personal performance, initiative and motivation- to do all the important tasks themselves.

The Manager needs to use his/her skills combined with new learning skills in delegation to develop the performance of the team as a whole in order to accomplish the goals of the overall department/business. The focus needs to be on planning, organising, motivating and controlling.

Delegation is not a mysterious skill available to a select few. It is basic management process that can be learned and developed by anyone who is willing to put in the time and effort and practice that it takes to ‘Delegate for Success. Providing the tools to develop those skills is what this training course is all about.

Training needs Analysis:

The aim of this training needs analysis is to identify the areas in the skill set of the managers within the targeted business sector in relation to staff development and more specifically the level of delegation skills evident in the day to day business operations.
The goal is to determine if there is a training need and if so what type of training format should be used. It also will determine how the companies and the targeted managers could benefit from the proposed training.
The initial contact was made directly to targeted business owners/ managers and/or HR. I introduced myself gave a brief biography of my own background indicating the tenure and level of experience I have in retail management. I then outlined the aims of my proposed training course and the benefits to the business that the course
