John Brown risked his life to help end slavery because he thought that slavery was wrong. He became a hero to most northerners but a villen to most southerners For example the document “John Brown Raid” states “some considered him a martyr because he was willing to give up his life for his beliefs.” This shows that the Northerners thought of him as a hero because even though he killed people he killed them because of a good cause. However according to “John Brown Raid” it states “ Many southerners became convinced that the North wanted to destroy slavery and the South along with it.” This example shows that the south thought that the North wanted to destroy slavery so after John Brown's death they could not keep going and expand the slavery land. Dred Scott was someone that thought that even though he was an american is wasn’t fair he didn’t get the same rights as whites. For instance the text “The Dred Scott Decision” it states “ The court further ruled that as a black man scott was excluded from the United States citizenship and could not, therefore, bring suit.” This shows, that Dred Scott fought for his own life just because he wanted to end slavery. The Civil War was inevitable because slavery would of never ended or ended later and many people risked their lives just to help end
