I was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI)‚ a genetic disorder that causes bones to break very easily. I broke my first bone when I was three‚ and at 17‚ I am up to 16 breaks and five surgeries. For me‚ going to the hospital has become as routine as a dentist visit. Some people see my OI as only an obstacle‚ but I believe it has given me a unique perspective on life.
