The values that I hold most deeply are friendships, family, and happiness. Values are things that are important in the way I live and work and I believe all of these things play a major role in my life. Since I was a little kid, my values have changed tremendously. Back then, my values would've been playtime, mac & cheese, and chicken nuggets. I believe values mature as you grow and mine definatly did. For example, when I was younger I remember being friends with everyone, but now I only have a select number of friends. This represents values to me. My values inform my actions by them always being my first thought while making a decision. They always play a role in my…
My values are things that I want to be evident in my career, school work, and personal life. They consist of achievement, working conditions, and independence. I think that the…
Values are things that you believe are important in the way you live and work. People believe that knowing your values will help you make the right decisions about how to live your life. On the other hand, people argue that one’s values may change depending on the environment they are in. Values can change due to the government, during survival situations, and based on the people around them.…
There are a few things that I value in my life. I value my family, friends and my education. If I didn’t have my family in my life then there would be no one to care for me and help me grow up. If I didn’t have an education then how are you supposed to be successful in life? I always try my best in school because I am lucky to have a great education and it wouldn’t be right to take it for granted. These are my personal values in life.…
The values that my mother said were most important to her when it came to family were trust, togetherness, and honesty. She believes the trust of a family is the backbone and the cement of the family which brings everyone close. Without the trust there wouldn’t be any communication, honesty, or togetherness, and without that there is a family with no real values or purpose. Togetherness was the next big value that my mother believes is important. Togetherness can be defined as a feeling of closeness or affection from being united…
The values are the most important thing in my life. First, values are the foundation of society, in which a parent, teacher, religion and society gives to people when they are in their childhood. Also values are essentials, they cannot be disputed because they are part of people’s consciousness. Also when I need to take a decision about a difficult situation, I think first in my values to do the right thing.…
The value that I hold most dear is appreciation. Not always did I cherish this value but a life changing experience caused me to appreciate all that I’ve been given. The life changing experience was a mission trip. In February I was given the opportunity to go to Guatemala and build very tiny houses for families who lived in the mountains. Every village we visited were different but they all had two things in common, laughter and thankfulness. I am still amazed and in awe of how the Guatemalans were filled with joy with the little that they had, they had a strong appreciation for the lives that they lived, they were simply thankful.…
why they are important. A value is simply what is important in the life of the person you are…
In the article The Values Americans Live By by Robert Kohls, he states in the very first paragraph, "Most Americans would have a difficult time telling you, specifically, what the values are which Americans live by." This statement is dead on when comparing America to almost any other country. In America there are so many different cultures because families from other countries are coming here in search of a better life. There is a very large diversity of cultures among Americans today. This makes it virtually impossible to have a definitive culture known as American culture. Most families come here to live but essentially still follow many of their cultures from their homeland although even these cultures can become somewhat Americanized. However Kohls does claim there are thirteen values in which most Americans live by.…
There are 7.6 Billion people in the world, which means 7.6 billion different values in life that motivate living. Although values can be similar, no two values are alike due to the different motivations and meaning that every individual contains for each value. For me, my values include Music, Friends, and Family. It might not seem like I value much, but these values have very much meaning to me on a personal and spiritual level.…
At this point in my life, i would like to say that i value my happiness most in life. In my mind, I mean happiness can mean a lot of different things, and the definition may vary from one person to another. As for me, I mean this happiness means different things for me, such as, i hope my parents have good health, i hope my friends happy everyday and so many things around me. I honestly wish that were the case. Over the past year, i have had a significant amount of time to think about why i feel the way i do about the components of my life, i always ask myself what do i want through my life. In doing so i believe that my family is my most valuable entity. Because my own happiness is from i accepting the "advice" and " encouragement" they give me, as for me, they must certainly be of more value to me than my own happiness. So i want to say my value is happiness which is depends on my family.…
I value life and life itself and the lives of my family and the people who are close to me. I also value religion and the guidance that it portrays. I value my education and professional career because it has helped to make me what I am today. I work because I not only have to, but because I want the experience and the knowledge that I will gain from a life of work. I want to be able to use this knowledge to not only help myself and my family, but to also help and teach others, and to also make a different so that I can leave and everlasting impression on whoever I may come in contact with. I also value the ability to speak and to speak freely. I value my ability to be self motivated in whatever task that I may be given.…
Family is the most important value to me. Without my family, where would I be? How would I interact emotionally, physically, and mentally with others? These are the questions I ask myself when I think about the support of my family. I define family as a support network with one’s immediate family and extended family. Family is whoever an individual chooses to make family; it is people with whom one has an emotional connection and admiration.…
There are many different views as to what makes life meaningful. Philosopher, Thomas Nagel, presents a good argument as to why a “Sisyphisian” existence is meaningless. This does not necessarily mean that all lives are meaningless, because Richard Taylor and Raymond Martin provide strong evidence that prove otherwise.…
Is the glass half empty or half full? The age old question of whether you view life itself as predominantly negative or positive. In Hamlet's Soliloquy, written by Shakespeare, Hamlet questions whether suffering through life is worth the pride. In It's Not About the Bike, written by Lance Armstrong, his excitement for life is hard to miss. While Hamlet is correct in the fact that, yes, times can be painstakingly hard; Armstrong's point of view is one I would hope sticks to people the most. No matter your situation, there is always a brighter side to turn to.…
