Dr. Robert H. Lustig states in his article that it causes a raise in blood pressure, which stimulates the pancreas to release high levels of insulin. Which transports glucose to cells for immediate use. But as we eat more and more the pancreas starts to store too much and can’t transport it to the cells effectively. This leads to insulin resistance. This means that there is a lack of glucoses at cellular level, which results in the craving for sweets and carbs. This is the beginning of a vicious cycle.
