A Person Who Influence Me

Throughout my life, I have met different people who have made impacts on my life. My parents gave me life and brought me up to be a positive and grateful girl and their devotion to their jobs set good examples for me in my study; my uncle, Cheng, has shown and taught me how to be a successful businessman, even life has many ups and downs, but the only way to overcome the difficulties are to work hard and never give up; my first English teacher, Emma Wu, got me interested in English and inspired me to study English, therefore I could have this opportunity to write my application essay and study abroad…to tell you someone who has made an impact on my life, it is hard to choose. Well, it is difficult, but I would choose my grandmother. It is my grandmother who taught me how to be an independent and helpful girl, and more important, helped me to understand that learning has no ending and the importance of “lifelong learning”.

My grandfather passed away when my mother was fifteen years old, and my grandmother raised my mother and three uncles herself. She never said bitter and tired to anybody. I lived with my grandmother since I was born, and I was taught that to do my own thing and wash my own clothes since I could remember. Looking around, most of my peers did nothing except studying and playing after school. At the beginning, I thought she did not love me and I always begged my mother to take me home. Gradually, I found I was more independent and mature than my peers. my grandma also was a generous person. She always gave away the fresh fruit and vegetables to neighbors. When the neighbors had the difficulties, she was always willing to help them. She always told me that help others, and happy yourself. She took me to the local orphanage regularly, and taught kids there to do some handicraft and helped do cleaning. My grandma was also a computer fan.
