A Person's a Person No Matter How Small

Abortion is a sensitive topic for some people; whether it is something they have gone through, or something they have beliefs for or against, it can be a very touchy subject for people. Abortion is “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus” as said in Merriam Webster’s Dictionary. A group of these people who are strongly against abortion are known as being Pro Life. Some of their reasoning behind their beliefs is based on the Catholicism beliefs as they are said in the Bible. Catholicism views abortion as murdering an unborn child and going against the church’s belief, which is what Pro Life stands for. One of the major aspects of being Pro Life is to believe that from the moment of conception, a human is formed. Since they believe that a human is made from the instant moment of conception, abortion would be murdering an unborn human. Rand McNally’s Atlas of the Body states, “In fusing together, the male and female gametes produce a fertilized single cell, the zygote, which is the start of a new individual.” The start of a new individual is the start of a new human life. This belief goes a step farther. People who are Pro Life not only believe that conception is the beginning of life; they believe that a human life is designed before conception. In Genesis, God says that he made man in His image. In Psalm 51, David explains that he was made in the image of God and that God knew of him before he was conceived. Also, that because we are all made in God’s image, we are all human’s before we are born. The Catholic religion believes that God came up with a plan of every human’s life before they are conceived. Jeremiah 1:5 explains that God knew us before we were in the womb. This leads itself to the belief that any human, born or unborn, is alive and that murdering them is not right, and against the Catholic religion. Psalm 139 verses 13-16 describe the relationship that
