The author, Ms. ROSSEL KATE H. ENGRACIA, was born on July 29, 1990 at Zamboanga City. She is the fourth daughter of Mr. Raymundo B. Engracia and Mrs. Cristeta H. Engracia.

The author finished her Elementary Education at Dolores Central Elementary School in Dolores Eastern Samar. She finished her secondary education at Dolores National High School. And she completed her college education, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, at Eastern Samar State University.

The training and experience gained in the OJt has helped her become ready for the challenges in the real world. It had helped her to be more confident and develop her skills in both communication and technical skills.


The trainee would like to acknowledge the people who help her for this training possible. She wants to express her sincerest gratitude to her family for their unwavering love, guidance and for supporting her financially, emotionally and spiritually. Her friends - Digna, Jessa, Marnie, Amy, Wilma, Nancy, Milany - whom she had shared wonderful things together. She would like to thank her OJT Coordinator, Mr. Darwin Paul Gadian for the support that he gave to his trainee. She would also like to gratefully acknowledge the staff of EMCOR Inc. especially to the employees for giving her a chance to be part of their team and for giving her some knowledge about work. Lastly, she is thankful to the Lord for giving her strength and good health to finish the training.

On-the-Job Training or OJT is one of the requirements for Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Program. The trainee is required to consume 240 hours specified in the curriculum. The On-the-Job Training was held at Emcor Inc., Borongan City. The trainee has been immersed with trainings which helps the students to acquire relevant knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting.

For the students, an OJT or internship program provides opportunities to go through the actual methodologies of the specific job using the real tools, equipments and documents. In effect the workplace becomes the development venue and practice what he/she has learn from the academy.

Accommodating On-the-Job trainees can truly be beneficial to the trainees but also to the companies that provide opportunities for this type of learning. There is wisdom in the front lines. Such training can be an investment that will be valuable to the company later on. This is also the reason why trainees should take their internship seriously as it can become a powerful tool and possibly even a source of recommendation when they take that...
