Xacc 280 Week 1 Reflection
As a resource, Ms. Pancake had proposed to micro manage my efforts to ensure the conceptual understanding of my responsibilities and I agreed. We had arranged to do so on Wednesday, December 7 as it would be less strenuous on her time schedule. This was to give her the opportunity to complete her required closing processes, while demonstrating to them that I was competent with my allotted tasks by completing them in the time requested. She and Mr. Rackers had accepted my proposal. As the day came, she was resolving an issue from the previous accounting week, and was speaking with Mr. Whittaker about invoicing. After speaking with him, she had walked back to office, but stopped by my cubicle to check my progress. The conversation went …show more content…
The Odyssey Reports were not balancing the totals in the spreadsheet. Some of it was a brainless blunder of looking at the wrong date for the requested information (mental fatigue), the rest of it was legitimate miscues shown on the report. For the most part, I tried to resolve the issue with no assistance until I could make no further progress. As a result, the process consumed the entire day, and I was summoned to meet with Ms. Pancake and Mr. Rackers with an explanation. After explaining to them the issues, I had requested for them to evaluate my performance on the following day to determine if it was a legitimate case of poor …show more content…
After which, this practice along with verbal confirmation became a standards when completing this task in the attempt to ask for more work. There were no further issues to speak of in regards to this as the e-mail gave a time signature for its completion with an exception to Friday when the entire process is scheduled to be completed by 10 am to expedite the closing process. During the close of the semester, the workload had decreased substantially, and consequently, the daily tasks were completed within an hour span, at most.
On Friday, December 30, Mr. Rackers and I had briefly spoken about his desired task time completion in his office. He had explained to me that it was acceptable to continue and complete my task at my reported time while justifying the reasons for it to be a joint project on Fridays. However, Ms. Pancake had said the exact opposite in regards to my work performance in the termination letter. While explaining this, she had explained to me that she had created a log of the completion time. After refuting the false accusation, I had requested to view the logs in which she spoke of with neither response or

In the last three months it has come to my attention that several changes have been occurring, since Jessica Hilo has been on medical leave. The last three months we have more increased cost due to overtime, poor quality of work, tardiness and variations of break time. Every two executives have one secretary to help support the current team. Jack Snyder supports Jessica Hilo and Ralph Alane, while Ruth Disselkoen supports Samuel and Frank Daley. There is only one difference between these executives and that is Jack’s team has a full-time assistant, while Ruth’s team only has a part-time assistant. With Jessica’s work load being shifted temporarily to Ralph and Frank Daley, it has created a work load imbalance. Ruth has been cutting her breaks short, and using overtime to complete her work load. The problem is the quality of work being turned in has declined. Jack, I noticed you have been taking longer than the allotted break times, coming in late on several occasions, and finishing early. These actions are not in the best interest of the team.…

Since he is at a Pay Increment step, Luci contacted Corey to verify if we had received an evaluation so they can process the final pay at the correct pay rate. When I received the message from Corey, Luci had already contacted the Foreman, Joseph Johnson, to ask for the evaluation. Mr. Johnson had stated he didn’t have an evaluation ready for Mr. Walluk. Luci informed him that she would process the separation as she only has a couple of days to process the final pay for a separated employee, per the contract, and she couldn’t wait until the evaluation gets finalized. Good afternoon everyone! I hope you all did well on the midterm exam we had last week. This course has been a very interesting challenge to tackle so far, and the assigned readings for Week Five were no exception. We learned through the assigned chapters and article on Professor Elizabeth Loftus that memory, an aspect of every individual which many believe as infallible, is actually fallible. In fact, the memory of a human being can be manipulated or limited, either intentionally or unintentionally, through various ways. This can cause problems as small as a family disagreement, remembering you were somewhere you never were, or even a failure to accurately recall a special event; however, it can also affect the reputation and sometimes…

ENGL 202 was a tremendous experience for my second quarter at Humphrey's University. I feel that I have benefited from the knowledge gained from the course and learned vastly to working and analyzing not only my own writings but also with other writings. In the beginning of this course, we have learned how to specifically understand how a well-versed paper can be defined and what it is not. The first essay that we analyzed was based off a concerned parent to beauty pageants for children under 10 years of age. We first analyzed her topic and learned that while it is a concerning issue, her essay was no more than a simple rant that lacks research and specific data that would be relevant to her essay. From there we analyzed other topics that, while they were well-researched topics, they had specific “holes” in them that affected their credibility, such as a lack of authority towards the author or missing valuable research. One in particular was to an author that relied on emotion for being against the death penalty. These helped us to analyze essays better and to learn what not to do in a research assignment. This next element of…

During the first nine weeks I have learned an immense amount about myself. The multiple intelligences, learning styles, and 16 personalities tests have taught me to understand myself and how I learn. When reviewing the results I noticed extreme accuracy in every field covered, including, how I learn, communicate, develop relationships and see myself. There were subjects explained that I had never before considered about myself so it was interesting to see how people similar to me perform in those areas. Results of tests have begun to improve aspects of my life that I did not know needed improvement. The learning style survey informed me that I am a solitary learner, although I was aware of this previously the conclusions drawn were still beneficial…

In the course of my duties, I am responsible for compiling information on a quarterly basis from several other institutes for the National Drug and Alcohol report. During the spring of 1999 at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse & Alcoholism, the report was going to be late because of a malfunction with the Institute's computer system. This delay would have caused NIDA to miss the national report submission deadline to Congress and the White House. Due to the importance of the impending deadline, I negotiated with the teams at the National Institute of Mental Health to transfer the information to their computers to complete the job. While this would have required a great deal of overtime for these employees, I was able to negotiate a compensatory time package for the employees with approval of management and the staff that met their various needs. I was able to pull the three institutes together to complete the report and submit it by the deadline to Congress and the White House.…
