I am applying for the ABA Therapist position at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) because I feel the need to help Autistic children. When my younger sister had her second baby, I felt in love with him from the time I saw him. He was a normal and healthy baby. After a year or so we begin to notice changes in his behavior and attitude. After many visits to the doctor my nephew was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, a type of Autism, apparently very common in children. I spent the majority of my free time researching and investigating his condition. He started receiving occupational and behavioral therapy; his ABA therapist would come home twice a week. He enjoyed his therapy sessions very much; I saw how dedicated his therapist was and realized how important these sessions are for an autistic child. My nephew is a normal and very smart child, but with special needs. He is my inspiration in life, being so close to him helped me decide what career to pursue, that's how I enrolled at the University of Phoenix and got my degree in psychology while I was a volunteer at the Autism Diagnostic Clinic at Phoenix Children's Hospital. My biggest passion is to help autistic children like my nephew. I'm ready to become a member of the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, it would be a great honor to get the ABA Therapist position and start working with your team.
