why i want to be a makeup artist
Everyone questions what you want to be when you grow up starting in elementary school and your answer normally ranges from princess to astronaut. As you grow and you’re in middle school your teachers ask you the same thing my answer was an architect, once you reach high school the question is a lot firmer and a lot more serious. I still don’t know exactly what I want to do for ever but I know what I want to do for now I’d like to be a makeup artist.
The power of being able to change a person's appearance using makeup has been a personal passion of mine for as long as I can remember. We all have something in our lives that we get a little giggly over for some its shoes, clothes, sports or movies for me its makeup. A lot of people say makeup is a way of hiding yourself or that it changes a person for who they really are. To me make up doesn’t hide the person you are it lets the confident person you want to be shine. If you feel beautiful you will carry yourself that way.
Some may ask why I would choose to pursue a career in a field that’s not so demanding but honestly if you have the drive the right education and the skills you have nothing to worry about. But I have no interest in the money i would rather do something I love and make a normal amount of money then something I hate and make a lot of money. This is a career i would like to pursue because no matter what anyone tells you looks are important the way you carry yourself and your appearence will tell you a lot about a person. Sadly perfection is the goal for many in the world but I don’t think people need makeup to achieve this, makeup is something that allows people to feel better about themselves. Nothing makes me happier then to see a woman sit down in front of me with low to no self-esteem then I take a brush to her face and even the slightest bit of makeup can make her feel more beautiful, it’s a great feeling when you know you can make someone leave with a smile on their face and a pep in their step.
Requirements for a career in this field are skill, familiarity, and education. Practice applying makeup on yourself and others so you can develop your technique. The best way to build a skillful hand at applying makeup is to practice on people with different colored skin, face shapes, eye colors, and different ages. This will help you develop skill so that you can work with a wide range of clientele. You have to learn with different types of makeup, brushes and looks. Read magazines, find fashion and makeup blogs, and pay attention to the different trends and styles of makeup. Learn the difference between day and night looks. Day for instance has lighter colors like pink tones and natural colors, makeup should be subtle, nothing more than mascara and a neutral shadow. Night time makeup needs to pop, darker colors. A dramatic lip or eye not both or you’ll overdo it, also the cat eye with red lips is always a classic look. Also education a lot of makeup counters like mercy’s and Dillard’s will hire without education from buaety school but in order to work in a salon or for a more known company you need to have graduated from beauty school. Not to mention the education will look a lot better in your favor when it comes to competing for the job. I feel as if I meet the some points of the requirements to pursue this career, but I need to learn more. I would like to go to beauty school and i would like to start out at a counter if I have to and then get experience for a salon and slowly but surely make my way up the chain.
I hope my passion and the skills I already have will get me started greatly in this field. My passion lies in eyes. I love experimenting with different colors and lashes and liner. Shadow also comes down to the person you are for instance some colors that great with my skin tone are blues, gold’s and browns. Personally enjoy lashes on myself because I have smaller lashes than most. I also change my liner on a day by day bases I love to try different things on myself and others I follow many blogs and instagrams with people that do makeup and sell makeup i am also a frequent make up buyer it is kind of an addiction.
Therefore i im looking forward to graduating from ITT Tech then moving on to pursue my career in make u artistry. I am prepared for the hard work and dedication. I plan to continue practicing the skill and learning more until I can further my career and education in the field.

Everyone is asked one question, at a very young age. That question is: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” There isn’t a time I can remember when an adult didn’t ask me this question. When I was six, I would respond with the usual movie star, fashion designer, or veterinarian. My answer would be said confidently, as at this age I walked through life as if it were no big deal. My answer occasionally changed to fit with my many childhood phases, but my view on the question stayed the same. When I was a child, I replied to this inquiry the same way everyone else did; I answered with an occupation. It took me years to discover my new approach to this question. My new response did not include my dream job, but how I saw myself in the future.…

A Roman philosopher Plautus once said, “A woman without paint is like food without salt”. It is in human nature to always strive for perfection and new ways to express our selves, cosmetics is the way. Hair care, skincare, toiletry, perfumery and decorative cosmetic products are all used in our daily routines to keep us clean, maintain healthy skin and teeth, to look good and smell nice. European laws that ensure the safety of these types of product call them ‘cosmetics’ and this is the term. Beginning with the Ancient Egyptians 10,000 years Before the Common Era up through today, the 20th century. Civilizations have used forms of cosmetics for centuries in religious rituals, to enhance beauty, and to promote good health. The entire population with large use of cosmetics honored gods, although some of the ingredients were poisonous, allure of cosmetics did not lessen. In Rome, there was a period of time when women were not considered beautiful if they did not wear makeup. England almost accepted a law in 18th century that enabled men to divorce their wives if they caught them wearing makeup. Century later, Queen Victoria publicly declared public use of cosmetic improper and vulgar.…

Advertisements are messages that are intended to influence their audience. Their sole purpose is to raise awareness of the existence of their product in the people whom they target and to promote the benefits of buying or using it. In our society, many people are trying to transform themselves into someone they are pretending to be. As a little girl i used to love going and getting my hair cut, dyed and everything in between. Around when i turned fourteen i started to take an interest in doing my own makeup just for fun and giggles, and i started going with my mom, aunts and grandma to watch them when they would get their hair done. Maybe there's no question as to why i have a passion for cosmetology. Throughout highschool i took classes that allowed me to really express who i was. Sophomore year i took a basic drawing and painting class at Meadowdale high school, where we focused mostly on drawing and shading of objects. It didn't take me long before i developed an opinion of my own artwork and seeing as i was fourteen almost fifteen i didn't think much other than that i hated everything about my work. It was sloppy and unorganized. At…
