Why We Travel By Pico Iyer Analysis
Why we travel ?

Why do we travel ? As Pico Iyer mentioned in his article “ Why We Travel “ Travelling gives us the advantage of losing all of the stress around; moreover, it lets us enjoy a deep break. In addition, travelling uncovers the other cultures with a way that hearing or reading about cannot cover. Further more, travelling is more about feeling younger and reliving your life, it is about taking life slower so you could enjoy every moment in it. Iyer explained in his article how living the experience is totally different from hearing or reading about it. Iyer used different ways in his article to convince the people how travelling could change their ways of looking at the world. Iyer’s article is about how travelling could help us gain more knowledge and get more educated. Iyer was effective in bringing the thought of how valuable voyaging is. He utilized the rhetorical appeals to deliver his opinion to his audience. However, he made some fallacies while delivering his opinion.

Another of the reasons why people travel is for business purposes. Many people especially executives and businessman have to travel daily, weekly, or monthly to conduct business. This is a big part of travel especially with international companies that have multiple divisions. Some people tend to travel to explore in the name of science. Since there are still places in the world that have not been explored or may hold interest, scientist travel or hire someone to explore these uncharted areas. One of the last reasons that I’ll list as a reason why people travel is for religious reasons. There are many different places in the world like Israel or The Vatican that hold religious meaning to many people in the world. People often travel to these places on spiritual pilgrimages or other religious reasons.…

    - Travelling unravels the beauties and beasts of an unfamiliar world. It’s a kaleidoscopic adventure with a spectrum of colours. Whether you are letting your palate choose your destination or your unquenchable thirst for adrenaline, it is always an experience that awakens our inner child by offering us new, “first-time” experiences. Ask anyone, and they’ll tell you that the best time they ever had in their life was the trip they took right after graduating from college (if they were lucky enough). I can’t stress enough how important I feel it is for more young people, who have sufficient funds of course, to travel and see the world around them. Start thinking outside the norm a little bit, get out of your comfort zones and start exploring!…

His stories were very relatable to a college graduate which exemplifies his familiarity with his audience. He told sad stories that made the audience sympathize with him and dropped hints of humor to keep the audience interested showing his ability to control his audience. He also told success stories that built his credibility to reminding them who he was and why they should listen to him. Although he only told three stories he knew how to engage the audience and get the message across using his ethos, logos and pathos. There’s no debating that his powerful personality, relentless drive, and ingenious foresight have made a tremendous impact in the graduates and…

Travel to North America has shaped the United States into what it is today. If that had never occurred then the world would be a completely different place. There are two different journeys when one travels, the outer journey of seeing incredible sights and doing incredible things and the inner journey of how the new experiences shape someone and the way it changes one's perspective (D2). One are transformed each time they go someplace new. Each new journey comes with many upon many new experiences. This is why humans long to travel, in hopes to lose oneself, find oneself, open one’s eyes and hearts, and “become young fools again” (F1). To be able to get away and find a new perspective on things is something everyone looks for that can even help us mentally.…

One thing is for certain, we only serve to gain from our travels. Two paths await you when you travel. You can leave behind all the comforts of home and set off for a sheltered location that provides all the same comforts available to you at home. Or you can take the second route. Shed your lifestyle, customs, and certainties and escape into a new world that you can fully embrace. Trust me, the second path is always more fulfilling, plus the stories you come home with will be even better than any spa retreat could ever serve up. Travel should be something you learn from as much as to enjoy. Anyone can travel, but smart travelers will approach everything with an open mind and heart that allows them to see the real beauty in the places they set out to explore. Here are some of my favorite travel quotes to get you thinking differently about the way you travel. On Why You Should Travel Experience travel, these are as education in themselves. Euripides He who does not travel does not know the value of men. Moorish Proverb Wandering re-establishes the original harmony which once existed between man and the universe. Anatole France The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. St. Augustine Motivation To Go Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds. Explore. Dream. Discover. Travelling the world is another way in which worthwhile learning occurs. Travelling the world allows you to see how other people around the world live. When you see how other people in other countries live it can really let you see how fortunate you are and allows you to appreciate the things you have. When you see how other people live it can also open your eyes to see how you could be living your life instead of how you are living your life. You can also see how hard other people work and it can inspire you to work harder in your life. You can also see other cultures or religions and you can appreciate other people’s way of life. Travelling is a way in which worthwhile learning can occur.…
