Willamette Humane Society Spay Neuter Clinic produced a video for the general public to explain how the use of spaying and neutering animals can reduce the overpopulation of strays and reduce the number of humane euthanasia performed. United States of American has done their best to reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs by teaming humane societies and clinics together, adoption of animals was conditional to spay and neuter of the animal. Through my own experience, volunteering with humane societies, the change in the behavior after spaying and neutering these undomesticated animals has meant a future for them and fewer animals are left wandering the streets and fewer animals returned to shelters as future population is decreased. Many…
In his article “Sorry, Cat Lovers: Trap-Neuter-Return Simply Doesn’t Work”, author Richard Conniff argues that TNR does not work as well people says it does. He states that in the United States that about 20 to 100 million feral cats exists, and they, along with pet cats kill billions of birds and other small animals. He mentions the argument of readers that are for a procedure called TNR, which stands for “trap-neuter-release or trap-neuter-return.” TNR is very appealing to many animal welfare organizations. The procedure is carried out first with feral cats getting captured, then the feral cats get neutered, and finally are “shipped back into the world.” The author says, “It’s a way to avoid the deeply dispiriting business of putting animals down…” According to two studies the author explained, the TNR program has accomplished nothing in the 11 years it took to do. Conniff also states that cats are more likely to conduct rabies then dogs. Even though this is true, TNR programs leave a “significant percentage” of untreated feral cats on the…

The Feral reserve system faces many challenges in order to provide a healthy economic structure. One of those challenges is for example determining the best solution to solve a crisis that could have different degrees of seriousness. In other words, the FED struggles on how to set the targets that would best affect positively on policy goals. To illustrate this point, we can address the following issue: inflation. As inflation rises, every dollar will buy a smaller percentage of a good. For example, if the inflation rate is 2%, then a $1 pack of gum will cost $1.02 in a year. I was taught in my previous finance class that most countries' central banks would try to sustain an inflation rate of 2-3%.…
According to dosomething.org “Each year, thousands of young and healthy Greyhounds are killed because they lack racing potential or have been injured while racing and are no longer competitive” (11 facts about animal cruelty). Sounds terrible, right? Well, there is an organization called the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or ASPCA for short, that helps fight against that type of animal cruelty. The ASPCA was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 (About the). Also, the ASPCA was also the first humane society to be established in North America and is also one of the largest humane societies. The ASPCA has authority to investigate and make arrests for animal cruelty. This organization would be a perfect place for someone to donate money to if they are looking to help out a charity. I believe that this is the perfect organization to donate to because they are always fighting against animal cruelty, such as violence, they help to stop puppy mills and they also fight to make animal testing illegal. This organization needs donations in order to stay up and going and to continue to rescue animals and keep them alive.…
C. Large numbers of animals are rescued every day, and to ensure they are safely rehomed, the organization put together a shelter research and development team that develops programs to help save life and improve welfare of at risk animals. A few of these programs include:…
I think the local goverment should partially fund it, like every other public park or program within the United States, but it should also be specifially instructed to create its own LLC. or some sort of legal protection pact. This would provide a stable way to fund and operate it but also would provide a great example of structured community for the generations to come. The points made by both authors were very strong and showed determination for both sides. I think if the second author truly felt like he should have a say for his felines, he should write a proposal for a public funded cat garden, or cat sanctuary for rescued or hurt felines. That being stated, I think the first author had a very clear and more logical arguement to follow and…

That commercial comes on when the dog is sad and the sad music starts. Then someone with a soft voice says something like” Help!!” Then they finally send a message saying donate and everybody does because they feel bad for the dog. Have you ever seen many of these commercials for the wildlife in Texas? There aren’t that many. They need these laws the same as dogs and cats. The wildlife in Texas need cruelty laws by: adding wildlife to the ASPCA and under federal laws, petitioning and adding barriers along the road; this will lead to less roadkill, affliction on wildlife and the people who treat them inhumanely will actually be committing a crime.…
Support your local shelter or animal rescue organization. It's a great way to make a difference. Some of our ASPCA volunteers foster animals who have been abused in their former homes, giving these dogs and cats the chance they deserve to have a good life. You can find a list of shelters and rescue groups in your area in our National Shelter Directory.…
Shelters offer temporary housing, which is good but that means it’s also a temporary solution, not a way to stop homelessness completely. This is also one of the most expensive solutions, on average almost $5,000 a month is spent per family (The Atlantic). Since the occupants do not pay rent, the tax payer’s money is spent to run the facilities, are care for the people’s needs. The amount of violence and crime in shelters also makes them unsafe for the elderly, and women and children, forcing them to stay on the streets which is also very…
Some may wonder how the program is funded by the government because of how much it costs. The government also sets a budget each year and there are ways that programs are funded: privately or governmentally. This program is a great start to getting veterans off the streets at night. The veterans deserve it, especially after all they have done to protect this country. The veterans do have problems such as substance abuse, but that is where the supportive system that they need comes in to help. Not every person is perfect, but if everyone offered a hand to someone in need it could make a huge…
In ancient Egypt, they held cats up high for poise and grace; they even had a goddess cat, named Bast (Bastet). When Egyptians lost their cat, they would mourn as if they lost a family member. To kill a cat, even accidentally, was an automatic death sentence. Cats were believed to be guardians of the gates of hell, and to prevent demons, ghouls, and spirits from escaping, and prevent them from entering homes of humans. So why people find this animal cute, adorable, and friendly is beyond me. Who would want a pet that was held up to be a god? That people have killed over and treated like a human? That is associated with hell and all its demons? Animals aren’t human, so these cats should be treated exactly like pets. Not equals, not “man’s best friend”, but an animal. You can’t take them everywhere with you like you can a dog, and if you leave them home, they may pee everywhere, claw up the couch, get into everything they shouldn’t, and make a ridiculous mess.…
If letting the homeless die is too cruel we can also use them to our benefit. What if I tell you that we can use them for good use? How can we make the A.S.P.C.A (The American Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals) happy? We all can use the homeless people facial hair as fur coats. We shave them and make their facial hair a sweater or blanket or fur coats. Now granted, it would probably smell but after you wash it a few times the smell…
Vast of animals are being taken into care per year is unreasonable, other animals apart from dogs and cats have been increased by more than 16 precent, which needs more care to these animals. It brings much more pressure to RSPCA.…
