Why Is It Important to Attend School Daily
Why is it important to attend school daily?, to begin with under State Law a student age 6 through 18 is required to attend school, to receive credit in a class the student must attend 90 percent of the days the class is offered daily to make the most of his or her education . Most importantly the student’s only job is to attend school daily, there will be times an exception will have to be made, but the student’s parent will have to write a legitimate excuse signed by them to be turned in by their child no later than 3 days after their absences. When the absences are not excused they will be exactly that “unexcused absences” that will eventually add up, when there are more than 3 unexcused absence days or part of days in a four-week period or 10 or more days or part of days in a six-month period the parent and the student will be subject to prosecution. Being a truant student is considered a Class C misdemeanor and is punishable by a fine not to exceed $500, there are and will be many consequences to missing school and an excuse is not written. Education is the most important thing in a child’s life he or she from an early age needs to be thought that without an education there is no chance of success or acquiring a long life career of your desire. Who wants to be stuck in a minimum wage job the rest of their life, most likely flipping burgers at the local McDonalds instead of being in air conditioned office working only 8 hours a day earning a 56,000 salary annually. The salary does vary but with a four year college degree you are guaranteed to make more than the minimum, just like any job requires their employees to be on time schools require their students to do the same each and every day .

Since the State law requires you to be in school more than 90% of the time and each class is 70 minutes long, the student cannot be more than 7 minutes late or otherwise he or she will be marked absent for the rest of the class period. Teaching the students to be on

Krueger middle school claims they need more time to get from class to class. Some students are running from class to class and get hurt. If there's 5 minutes that will be enough time to get a drink and go to the bathroom so there's no valuable time taken away from class. Also if one student shows up tardy it distracts the whole class because they have to turn around and look who came in. If everybody's on time to class there's more time to learn. Its also very convenient for teachers if there's 5 minutes, because they don't have to leave the class to go to the bathroom. A student from krueger middle school stated, ‘Three minutes is not enough time to get there and get your things out of your locker. This year for tardies we have to go to court. Nobody wants THAT! Even if it makes our day a little longer , the time will be well…

First of all, the rules of the attendance policy are strict. The attendance policy does not distinguish between excused or unexcused absences. I do not think that having an unexcused absence is the same as an excused absence. I think that there should be a difference between an excused absence and an unexcused absence. Secondly, the policy is placed to help college students be more responsible. But, I feel like having a attendance policy is not teaching student to be responsible but it is placed there to act like a parent. In high school, some parents would wake their children up to go to school and it was mandatory but, the attendance policy is acting like the parents by forcing them to go to class. College students should learn responsibility by facing the consequences for not going to class. In the professional world, the employers are not going to have an attendance sheet going around to see if their employees are in. the employees have to take responsibility and show up and face the punishment if they do not show up for work. I think that certain classes should be a little stricter on their attendance policy. Fro the classes that are more vital to the professional world should apply an attendance policy that would help students learn but not force them to go to…

However, sometimes students are unable to aquire any of his or her needs because other students are keeping him or her from doing it. Rules against Public Display of Affection should be enforced because it causes a huge distraction. When students are engaged in PDA other student often have a hard time how to deal with it. Should that student look away or stare? PDA can also make students late to his or her next class because lovers are occupying his or her locker. According to the student handbook, being late to class ten minutes or more is considered an unexcused absence or a cut. Also if a student has two or more cuts they will loose there credit. That being said, it should not be the students fault because being tardy to his or her class is often can cause by students who are engaging in PDA. The problem isn’t the students, more likely the problem comes from schools that haven’t laid a proper system to educate these children into becoming the best they can to achieve in the future. In order to increase student success in Anaheim, schools must have programs such as mandatory after school study halls and activities. In “Marita’s Bargain” by Malcolm Gladwell, I’ve picked up my first quote saying “I think that extended amount of time gives you the chance as a teacher to explain things, and more time for the kids to sit and digest everything that’s going on” (10). I see this as a support for my argument because it says that more school time can give teachers the chance to have more time with the students and…

Furthermore, school officials are constantly complaining that so many of their students are constantly tardy to school. That even have a policy in our school that states that if you're late to classes more than four or five times, you have I.S.S. Now that's just plain ridiculous! Imagine that you are a student, having so much homework that you're up until 12 a.m., slaving away to get all of your work done to keep your good grades. The only negative thing about staying up is that you sometimes over sleep. And you get punished for that? It's unfair! So if these schools don't like students being tardy, why don't…

After the research, truancy offenders in the end had more incarcerations and more probations than other offenders. By understanding the severe consequences of truancy offenses, solid intervention programs to avoid or decrease truancy cases are critically needed. Not by surprise, another finding was that youth with disabilities were more probable to be referred for truancy. One of the main reasons for truancy is the hard time with school, especially poor performance, and the current results sustain the view that children may use truancy to separate themselves from what they see as an intimidating environment (Zhang, Wilson, Katsiyannis, Barrett, Ju, and Wu, 2010, p.…
