Being tardy affects middle school students life's. According to Stacy Zeiger from the website sfps there are studies conducted by the US Department of Education show that school success and student behavior are affected by school attendance. Krueger middle school claims they need more time to get from class to class. Some students are running from class to class and get hurt. If there's 5 minutes that will be enough time to get a drink and go to the bathroom so there's no valuable time taken away from class. Also if one student shows up tardy it distracts the whole class because they have to turn around and look who came in. If everybody's on time to class there's more time to learn. Its also very convenient for teachers if there's 5 minutes, because they don't have to leave the class to go to the bathroom. A student from krueger middle school stated, ‘Three minutes is not enough time to get there and get your things out of your locker. This year for tardies we have to go to court. Nobody wants THAT! Even if it makes our day a little longer , the time will be well

In hopes to make your final decision, we have some reasons on why we feel this way. One thing is that students don’t tend to wake up early enough, which would cause them to be late to class all the time and then cause them to miss a lot of classes if you add up there all the minutes they missed. Another reason on, why not to shorten the morning bell is they would fall asleep in class a lot, which wouldn’t be good for the student’s work habits.…

Hallways in schools get absolutely crowded during passing time. With a five minute passing time, it would make hallways safer, give people more privacy, and compare better with other schools. One reason why we need a longer passing time is because it would reduce running in the hallways. According to “Wisconsin PBIS Network” you could be running in the hallway and get tripped by another person because you aren't paying attention where you are running or you could accidentally push another student into a locker. In addition, to reducing running rates in the hallway a longer passing time would also help students who need a bathroom break. For example, most teachers don't allow students to go to the bathroom during class, so they have to go during…

While societal pressures and norms may give opportunity for individuals to stand out, it has also taken over societies such as Scarsdale High School to a large extent. In Scarsdale, children will feel an aching need to meet the high expectations of their surrounding peers. Many have credited this to an intangible force and need to always impress teachers, peers, and parents as well. Children have admitted to doing extracurriculars and community service solely for the purpose of getting into the best university possible. That may not be an issue, however, in many cases these children are striving to get into colleges they may not even enjoy. In closing, societal pressures and norms may lead individuals to be courageous, however, it can negatively…

I do declare and so do others believe Activity Time is a privilege and also very efficient. Without the social and physical time that we need, not only does this bring upon more stress for teachers, it also has for students of Ligon GT Magnet Middle. The 20 minutes taken out of our day is a time to let loose all energy and be ready to focus as soon as we return to our classes. All students should have the right to make up any work that they might have for a teacher in a timely manner, as well complete it for credit. This makes life easier for students, but for teachers, it helps them to be organized instead of them having to chase you down to get your work in. Now since time is longer during class periods, we are all gaining weight because we sit down all day. We, students at Ligon Middle deserve to have time for extra help needs instead of coming after school, or having to most likely figure it out on your own.…

Have you ever been exhausted on a Monday morning, struggling to get up, well don’t worry, I have too? Schools should start later in the day so that students can get the recommended full 9 hours of sleep, because let’s face it, we all know most students don’t actually get enough sleep, but if school times were changed, say an hour ahead of current time, then students will be more attentive which will help them learn and stay focused in class, getting more sleep can help with their concentration, which would lead to better grades. Energy is also very important, if a student doesn’t have enough energy, they might fall asleep in class, which is a big problem. Lastly, if students don’t get enough sleep, they might be too tired, and skip breakfast,…

To begin, with more time in class students have much more time in class to ask questions. In class with only having 49 minutes teachers do not have enough time in class to get through everything they need to and still answer students questions. Asking questions is a important part in the learning process and is one of the key ways to learn. Therefore a 6 hour block will improve learning. Also, a 6 hour block will improve students grades. EJMHS students do not have the best grades. In fact this year on the NWEA testing there was almost a 20 point difference in understanding reading, and reading. This is a big issue. Students need more time in class to learn more. They do not have enough time in class to learn as much as they can and sometimes they are quizzed on subjectsthey haven't learned enough of. If students are able to have more time in class students will be able to take more in during class and be able to keep up. It is also hard to keep up at the pace that some of the teachers are going at now. Sometimes students end up just writing down the shorthand of what the teacher says and they don't ask questions on what they are confused on. Students need to be able to ask questions, if teachers are going 100 miles per hour in class the students are more focused on writing down what the…

One reason why this rule should be lengthened is because many Students need to use the restroom in between classes and end up with little to no time to do so. This particular School rule is outrageous. It takes away the time that we have to take care of our Necessities before returning to our next class. Students should have at least 5 minutes to get to class in between each class or session.…

All the 6th graders have settle that we do not have enough time during passing period. I have observed a great deal of kids not making it to class on time. They have not made it to class on time because not having time to go to the restroom, lockers getting jammed, and not having enough time to change during P.E. There are various other ways that people can be late but these are just a setting the example. I would like for you to take this into consideration because I think you would much rather see your students in class…
