Why Do Plants Grow Under Sunlight
Plants grow when put under a sunlight. If a plants is placed under a red light, a blue light, a green light, and sunlight then which will grow the most? The hypothesis was if a plant is placed under a blue, red, green and sunlight, then the plant under the green light will grow the tallest of all plant. The experiment's independent variable was the type of light the plant is placed under. The dependent variable was the growth of plants (in cm). Some variables that were ceped the same was the amount of water (only at the beginning was the plants given ¼ cup water), the amount of sunlight (5:30 pm-6:30 am), and the amount of seeds (4). The experimental group was the plants placed under the red, blue, and green light. In the experiment the plants weren’t given enough water …show more content…
Meanwhile, the sunlight-plant was placed in the same room with a window, so it could absorb the sunlight (it was placed inside so that the temperature was the same for all plants.) The average of growth for the sunlight-plant was 7.975 cm, the red light-plant was 6.6125 cm, the green light-plant was 6.3875 cm, and the blue light-plant was 6.5475 cm. In the experiment, the data collected rejected the hypothesis. At the very end of the experiment, all the plants only grew 1 cm. The sunlight-plant was the tallest, although at the beginning it showed that it was 2 cm taller than the others.

The dependent and independent have a relationship. The independent is what caused the dependent variable to occur. The type of light causes growth of plants. In the experiment, the way it turned out may be because the plants were not watered, or that the lights were left on too long. The lights, red and blue, make up sunlight, so that may be why they were not the

    2. Five variables that should be controlled during the experiment is the amount of sunlight, room temperature, amount of water, the time of day the plant is watered and the certain type of plant. To make sure the plants get the same amount of sunlight, make sure to put them both in the same spot so that one plant doesn’t get more sunlight than the other. To make sure they both stay in the same room temperature, put them both in the same room. With the amount of water come up with a measurement, and then make sure you give both plants that amount. Pick out a time of day for the plants to get watered make sure you water one earlier than the other since it is part of your hypothesis that they grow faster when watered in the morning. Finally, make sure that…

The dependent variable is the Brassica Rapa and it is depending on the temperature. Before the experiment took place, all plants were in 22 degrees Celsius for three weeks to grow to the preferred maturity. They were then taken out and pollinated. After pollination the plants were set in separate temperatures to mature for another two weeks. After the two weeks were over, the plants were taken out of their temperatures and soil to determine maturity and productivity. To do so, the plants were weighed, the length was measured, the pods were counted, and the amounts of mature seeds were counted as…

The results for the first fast plant grew taller by three centimeter or five centimeters each week. The number of leaves also increased each week by two to three leaves. Because of the more fertilizer added to a plant the fast plant grew taller and grew more numbers of leafs. The results for the second fast plant were very similar. The height of the plant had increased by three centimeter to five centimeters. The number of leaves also increased each week by two to three leaves. The last week…

Our claim is that the mass will increase as we water the plant, the plant will also absorb the sunlight. The sunlight gives the plant food that will make it increase in size. We watered plant “A” everyday, watered plant “B” every other day, and plant “C” every 2 days. The process of photosynthesis is when a plant absorbs sunlight, turns it into food, and uses the food as energy. We chose the hypothesis that the mass that makes up a plant comes from the water it absorbs. The initial weight for “A” was 30.4 grams, the eight for “B” was 20.4 grams, and “C” was 31.6 grams. Our theory was that as we added water, the plant would grow based on the amount of water added. The change in mass is validated in the tables below.…

For this project we had to experiment to see the effects of blue light on a plants growth. We had to research on light and its effects on photosynthesis. This helped me with my experiment because I had knowledge for what was going on with the plants and light. For this project I and one of my classmates had to conduct a experiment to see the effects of blue light versus white light. For this project we had to grow lentil beans under white and blue light and water and measure them daily. My experimental question was what is the effect of blue light on the height of lentil beans?…

I will be placing six Roma Tomatoes in six different area which will each be in different temperatures. After three weeks of constantly watering the tomato plants with blue dyed water I will cut the plant from the root and examine the Xylem under a microscope. The purpose of this experiment is to discover what temperature best allows the xylem to become larger and therefore transport more water and nutrients from the roots to the leaves.…
