Purana ghrit, ghrit prepared from the milk of the animals of marshy places is described. It is also mentioned that who should consume ghrit.
d) Kashyap Samhita (6th A.D.) Sneha yoni (sources) are described in Kashyap Samhita. Ghrit is considered as sarvasatmyachha. The seasons in which it is to be consumed are also stated. Snehapravicharana are also mentioned.
e) Bhava prakash (12th century) Qualities of different types of ghrit made from various species like buffaloes, goat, camel, sheep, mare, woman etc.
f) Yogaratnakara (17th century) Qualities of freshly prepared ghrit, purana ghrit, kumbha ghrit and mahaghrit are specially described in Yogaratnakara. Contra indications for consumption of ghrit are also mentioned.
g) Chakradatta (11th century) Unique quality of ghrit i.e. sanskaranuvartana is described in Chakradatta.
