What Is Delta Wing?
The Delta Wing Is a unique type of wing platform that has been part of the aviation engineering industry for many years. The Delta Wing has been used for numerous reasons. When working with delta wings, engineers must know that the design has both advantages and disadvantages. Through out the assignment, I will be using the research I have collected to identify the range of basic scientific principles and techniques relevant to the Delta Wing design and the history behind the Delta Wing.

The Delta Wing is a wing that has a unique triangular shape with the tips of it cut off. A German engineer named Alexander Lippich used the design of the delta wing first. The Delta Wing design has been used since World War two. By the end of the war, the mechanics of the Delta Wing made it best

When the Mach number reaches 1, it means that the airplane is approaching the speed of sound. The Mach number of and airplane is calculated by the formula: M = v / c were v = the speed of the airplane and c = the speed of light. By increasing the airplanes Mach number it makes supersonic flight much easier and more conveniently done by having Delta wings rather than general wings used on other types of airplanes. A second advantage of the Delta Wings is that as the angle of attack which is the angle between the cord line of the aircrafts wing and the direction of the wind increases, the edge of the wing creates a large vortex which allows the aircraft to have a higher tolerance to stalling while flying, which makes it easier to obtain higher vertical speed which known as the rate of climb. Regardless of all the advantages and features of the Delta Wing design, there are a number of disadvantages that must be understood when it comes to the Delta Wing
