Week Six Field Experiences
The week six journal will look at two different activities that were done this week and they include attending a Resident Council meeting for the first time and doing some one-on-ones with certain residents that are done two times a week with some residents. In addition, this field log will describe the activities that I did for week six and what happened during these field experiences. Furthermore, this paper will discuss my feelings about doing these activities, what I learned in doing them, and CSWE core competencies and practice behaviors that apply for week six activities.

Workshop Six - 6.1 Journal Field Log
Week six has been a busy week and I did many activities in week six, however, the activities that will be discussed are having the opportunity to attend a Resident Council meeting for the first time and doing one-on-ones with three residents for week six. The Resident Council meeting consisted of approximately 15 residents and staff and at the present time they are looking for another resident to take the lead position for the meetings because the resident in charge has been doing it for five years and she wants to step down. Social work in a nursing home facility might be different than other agencies, however, I find that experiences in this area teaches you many things and gives you a wide range of diversity and learning experiences that cannot be found in other settings and can prepare a social worker for working with different types of clients and medical issues or

    The elderly clients are only in need of someone to help them to live independently hopefully in their own homes. For those who are unable to live on their own, the social service professional will ensure that placement is being sought out in a nursing home and/or other residential care facilities.
