Walmart Observation
On 02-28-2016 at 1932 hours I was dispatched to 333 South Westwood Boulevard (Walmart) in reference to shoplifting.

Upon my arrival I made contact with Jesse Hunt, an employee of Walmart, who informed me of the following:
- He was walking the floor when he observed a male subject trying on coat and looking around for cameras.
- The male subject then selected a black and green hoodie and walked to the north door.
- The subject then exited the north door of the store and walked toward the south.
- Once at the south door he was stopped and asked to accompany them to the rear of the store.
- Once in the loss prevention room the subject was identified as Jonathan Brewer.
- The value of the stolen property was $29.84.

Brewer was placed under arrest

Give me a “W”, give me an “A”, give me an “L”, give me a squiggly, give me an “M”, give me an “A”, give me and ‘R”, give me a “T”. What’s that spell? Wal-Mart. Whose Wal-Mart is it? It’s my Wal-Mart! Who’s number one? The customer! Always! ("Wal-Mart China", n.d.). This is the motto and cheers that Wal-Mart lives by. Don’t be surprised if you hear the associates shouting this loudly and proudly at your local Wal-Mart store. It is one way they show pride in the company and how much they value their customers. In 1962, Sam Walton opened his first store, he implanted many principles and values within the company; respect for the individual, service to the customer and striving for excellence were his 3 basic beliefs. Ethics plays a huge role on why Wal-Mart has been successful and as Sam Walton would say, “Just because we work hard, we don’t have to go around with long faces. It’s sort of a ‘whistle while you work’ philosophy and we work better because of it”.…

Wal-Mart has a spectacular combination of customers. Many are quite respectful; most are ignorant. Everyday people dread the thought of shopping in Wal-Mart’s usually unique unwanted circumstances. A slight degree of onlookers get a thrill from the odd nature Wal-Mart provides. Other customers feel comfortable and at home with their shopping experience. Numerous people shop only to get the best deal. Waiting in line to check out could be a deal breaker.
