Title: Wag the Dog

The addition of a new word, TRUMPMATIC, into the American English dictionary, which means unpredictable behaviour or matters associating to chaos, was Trump’s prime achievement in his 100 days trumpmatic run as the President of the USA.

Clearly, the live action produced by the White House with real time live dramas captivating a global audience on CNN, which nevertheless has now become the latest home box office channel to tune in to.

A Hollywood styled fast rising actor cum director, painter, and a no holds barred tweeting Politician; the President of the United States is driving not only Americans but the rest of the world to follow him with great interest.

“Wag the Dog” was a motion picture screened in 1997 with Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro as lead actors. , it is all about illusions created elsewhere to avoid realities that are current, unpopular and to camouflage a foreseeable political disaster.

The illusion is to spin or cause a stir like creating a war or some pretentious punitive action taken against a known enemy or an invented one, just to gain a heroic advantage while avoiding focus on the dilapidating problems at home.

The work of art of WAG THE DOG (WTD) is similar to a dog with all four paws dipped in paint and made to walk over a painter's easel navigated by its tail held by the artist like a dog leash. Trotting within the perimeter of the painter's canvas the President would have created a paw-some painting. The excess and spill over outside the frame of the painting will be construed to be collateral

President Assad was already in a very comfortable position in the six-year civil war to retain the monarchy, a fact fortified by even President Trump only two weeks before the alleged attack.

Now the debate would be why he wanted to do something as daft as to use SARIN gas on civilians when he clearly had the Russians to pulverise any chosen target. Or was this just a WTD illusion?

James Comey was sacked from an executive position of the FBI; in a ‘The Apprentice’ TV show like style, which he only finds out from the news on TV, and something not being taken lightly by the American public.

Donald Trump is caught up in a turmoil involving the Russians tampering with the Presidential elections that made him President and his decision to dismiss Comey, who was in charge of the investigations, has brought about suspicion on him.

A flurry of home brewed catastrophes has begun to inflict a tear in the President's political career coupled with the show of no support from his own party amongst others which would best be cured by a WTD in Syria, Afghanistan or even North Korea to regain his voter’s confidence

During Richard Nixon’s term of U.S Presidency, he was part of a series of scandals called The Watergate Scandals. The scandals began with the arrest of five men for breaking and entering into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate Office complex in Washington, D.C. on June 17, 1972. Investigations conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and later by the Senate Watergate Committee, House Judiciary Committee and the press revealed that this burglary was one of many illegal activities authorized and carried out by Nixon's staff. They also revealed the immense scope of crimes and abuses, which included campaign fraud, political espionage and sabotage, illegal break-ins, improper tax audits, illegal wiretapping on a massive scale, and a secret slush fund laundered in Mexico to pay those who conducted these operations. This secret fund was also used as hush money to buy silence of the seven men who were indicted for the June 17 break-in.…

The constitution sets out formal powers of the President in article II. These include chief administrator, commander-in-chief, chief lawmaker and head of state. However, there has been a growth of informal powers that include chief legislator, party leader, world leader and chief diplomat. It is with these informal powers that President is able to have more freedom with exercising and asserting their power. Following this is Neustadt’s theory of “persuader in chief”. This can be expressed through the State of Union address. On the 25th January 2011, Barack Obama gave his state of the union address focusing on his views on the issues in…

Born in 1946 in New York City, presidential candidate Donald Trump has never been one who quietly follow the rules. Even as an elementary student in Queens, Trump pushed the limits. According to author Andy Argyrakis, Trump’s “rambunctious behavior at The Kew-Forest School resulted in his being sent to the New York Military Academy by the age of thirteen” (Argyrakis). At the academy, Trump played football, basketball, and soccer, and succeeded academically. In 1968, after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in economics, he returned to New York and began working for his father’s real estate company managing properties in New York and later in other parts of the country. One of his best-known projects was the construction of Trump Tower, a $200 million apartment complex and shopping center. Trump is a risk taker and, as such, he has experienced both great success and great failure in the world of business. Some of his failures include Trump University and Trump Financial, his mortgage firm. In addition to his business ventures, Trump has hosted a popular reality show, co-owed the Miss…

The power of being president, and all the endless decisions that comes with it. Barack Obama has the final say of the legislative, executive, and judicial branch. These three branches make up America’s politics. Now the president can’t govern a whole country all by himself, he needs help. In irony the president may be called the most powerful man in the world but his politicians also control the outcome of his decisions. The president needs to take into consideration the powers of the other three branches.
