in the movie the stars were given to thse who did amazing things. the dots were given when someone did something bad or something they weren't supposed to do. the connection this had witht the values in the eyes of others were they only looked at what they did. this could affect identity because there looking at who you really are just at what your doing. this affected their purpose in life because there not doing what God wanted them to do. there judging others by what they are doing. the people in the movie were trying to avoid getting the little gray dots.
other people knew punchinello as the person who had the most gray dots. this had an affect on his identity because all they looked at was that he didn't ahve any stars and all he had were gray dots.this was not really sumarizing who punchinello really was because they didnt see what was on the inside , they just saw what was on the outside.the effect these experiences had on punchinello was that he felt that he wasn't wanted.
Eli represented God not caring what others thought of her. Eli saw something in punchinello that nobody else saw in him. with starting to have a realtionship with Eli punchinello's identity started to change because he believed in God.he stoped trying to fit in.so instead he started not to care what others thought of him.
in our society we give people stars and dots by the words that we say . this does affect our identity and purpose in life. Because words do hurt whether we may realize it or not, and it can affect how some people may look at life.i dont think this is a healthy way to live because ten we won't know who we realy are and why we are here. our identity and purpose in life is supposed to be based on by who we are and why we are here. our realtionship with God could change this because knowing God can change the whole way that we look at life.
