* Equality 7-2521 wasa taught as a child to recite a pledge which states: “we are nothin. Mankind is all. By the grace of our brothers are we allowed our lives. We exist through , by ,and for our brothers who are the state. Amen .” what would happen to your personality and sense of individuality if you were taugh from a early age that you were “nothing”?

* If I was taught that I was nothing there would be a very big difference in this world. First I wouldn’t have a peronality. We would not be able to do anything at all. If I was taught that I was nothin then I would be a rebel and disagree. There are many reasons for disagreeing. It would be a world of no free will and then I would get a group to join me cause I wouldn’t want to get killed for my thoughts. So there would be a major change.

Chapter II Anthem * How would you feel if you were “assigned” a mate at a time of mating?

* I would have many feelings if I were assigned a mate at a time of mating. You are supposed to be able to choose who you mate with based on who you are interested in. If you’re assigned a mate then you are just going to end up getting mad. I disagree strongly. I think that it is an atrocious. I also that no matter who you are or anything like that you do you should end up being able to choose your mate.

Chapter III anthem

* What has equality 7-2521 discovered? What do you think has been the most valuable invention in the past 100 years?

* He has discovered electricity. He discovered that lightning is attracted to metal. So now he has to keep it a secret. I think he has discovered the most valuable invention in my opinion. He has discovered what peaked us once electricity was invented we started to grow majorly. So I think that electricity was the most important invention.

Chapter IV

From the moment Equality was born, he was taught to refer to himself as “we”. However, Equality’s society was also taught to think this way. For many years, people have been under the control of the Council of Vocations. “We have broken the laws. The laws say that men may not write unless the Council of Vocations bid them so. May we be forgiven!”(1). The Council of Vocation was craven by its society (Simple). So when Equality…

Like waves ebbing and flowing from coast to coast, one moves through day to day life without question or conscious recognition or belief of what is happening. This parallels with the waves of thoughts boiling in the minds of nihilists. The philosophical process of nihilism is defined as “the belief in nothing or a rejection of objective truth, social conventions, and moral meaning” (“Nihilism”) A wave of nothingness crowds the shores of minds with a state of utter emptiness. To discover the depths and breadths of nihilism, one must take in the history, meaning, and application of what it truly means to lead a nihilistic life.…

I was dependent on none and related to none. The path of my departure was free, and there was none to lament my annihilation. My person was hideous and my stature gigantic. What did this mean? Who was I? What was I? Whence did I come? What was my destination? These questions continually recurred, but I was unable to solve them. (99)…

Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld exemplify the concept of nothingness. Specifically through an episode of Seinfeld titled The Pitch, in which he discusses the idea of nothing as being a much more complex notion than just an empty experience with no actual value. They illustrate this idea with Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza, Cosmo Kramer, and Elaine Benes, when they spend countless days doing “nothing”. The time they spend doing nothing is filled with interesting dialogue, while mostly comic, it still portrays a further importance that affects their personal thoughts and daily motives. Through the script and characters, the Seinfeld cast demonstrates building “nothing” into an essential concept that helps give importance to a person’s life along with the lives of others…

Growing up in America, most children will learn about the history of electricity, telephones, engines, and other mechanical inventions. Almost everybody has heard of Benjamin Franklin and his discovery using lightening and a kite, Thomas Edison manufacturing the first plausible indoor light bulb, and other revolutionary discoveries. Unfortunately, here in the US, a Belgian mastermind that helped to shape the modern technological world is quite staggeringly less heard of. Nikola Tesla made some of the most ground breaking discoveries in scientific history, his findings and patents are still being researched today and have recently been proven useful and innovative for even the most…

Another thing the speaker does to personify Nothing is to speak of the beings at odds with Nothing. Time and Body are the main foes to Nothing. In fact, the speaker calls Body “thy foe” in line seventeen and Time a “turncoat” in line nineteen. Only something human can have an enemy. Being humanized gives Nothing importance. At the most basic, humans are the top of the food-chain and are able to communicate with higher powers. To give something human qualities, like enemies, elevates it. Elevating Nothing to human status gives Nothing the importance that humankind and Something have stripped from…
