USPS: Keep Up With The Business World
For two centuries, the United States Postal Service (USPS) had been delivering many packages to people all over the country. However, in the modern world, there are less packages for the mail carriers to deliver because of email and other companies. In order for USPS to stay in business, they should change their ways of delivering to meet the needs of the changing world. New technologies and companies are forming and replacing the task of the USPS. For the USPS to keep up with the business world , they should adapt to the circumstances and try to change their working conditions. For example, in Daniel Stone’s article “Flying Like an Eagle?”, he lists some options that the USPS could do to improve their market. Since this community is a “coupon-cutting society”, people want to have a good deal to come back to the same place and that's what the USPS should do to increase customer satisfaction. Besides just delivering packages with objects in it, the USPS also sends out cards and mail. In the article “Sending Getting ‘Real’ Mail Still Magic” by Kevin Cullen, he explains how getting a letter in the mailbox is one hundred times better than getting it through email. She shares a personal story by describing having “shoe boxes filled with kind letters sent to [him] through the years by readers...many friendships began that way.” In Cullen’s point of view, a mail sent from the USPS can be kept for
