Types Of Adventure Tourism

South African landforms have an influence on the type of Adventure tourism in South Africa. Beedie (2005) defines Adventure as the person who likes challenging and risky activities, Tourism may refer to the activities, travelling and visiting places of interests, therefore Adventure Tourism is can be defined as the form of entertainment which is risky or challenging in the places of interests. In this essay I will discuss one form of adventure tourism offered on South Africa (Bloukrans Bridge Bungee Jump), and relating to its geomorphic landform found in South Africa. I will firstly describe the landform, its location and how the landform was formed. Secondly I will give details on the type of adventure tourism associated with this particular
From the top of the Bloukrans Bridge you can see the ocean where the Bloukrans River deposits its water or joins the sea. Adventures get knowledge and learn about the culture of local people like the Xhosas in the Eastern Cape. The money from the tourism (Bungy Jump) contributes to the economy of the country and adds to the South African Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The Bloukrans Bungy jump activity benefit the people around along the provincial boarder of Western Cape and Eastern Cape by proving job opportunities. The money that is collected from the Bungy jump as the costs for the Bungy jump helps to maintain the Bridge which is important way to cross through the Bloukrans valley.

In conclusion, South African landforms have influence in adventure tourism, there are variety of adventure tourism in South Africa, different people prefer different adventures and the selection is also influenced by the costs.
