Descriptive Essay on Different Types of Parks As I was young and growing up, traveling is something that I enjoy doing and still do today. I have traveled all around the country; however, the most exciting thing that I like to do is to go to an amusement park. Amusement parks are filled with rides, people, and excitement. The children are so excited and the adults feel as if they were young again. For example, Carowinds, Wet N’ Wild, and Disney World are all great amusement parks that I have been to. The number of people in amusement parks continues to grow as most amusement parks create new thrilling rides and activities to all people throughout the country. Carowinds is a very amusing place to go, which is located between Charlotte and Rock Hill. The amusement park is filled with people, food, rides, and excitement. Most people wait in long lines to get on a ride, while others walk around and get on another ride. Some of the rides that Carowinds have include: Wayne’s World, Vortex, and The Cyclone. These rides are breath taking, making people scream, and acquire a strong stomach to get on them. The amusement park has great food; however, the prices are a little eminent. They also have an all day buffet which is located in the middle of the park. Carowinds is a great amusement park to go as excitement continues to grow. The second amusement that has a lot of excitement is Wet N’ Wild. Wet N’ Wild is located in High Point, NC. Wet N’ Wild is an amusement park you just can not wait to get in. The park is filled with water rides and excitement. One of the rides I love to get on when I arrive is called The Twin Twisters. The Twin Twisters are two tunnels that loop you around four times at approximately 80 miles per hour. This ride is breath taking if you have not ever got on it before. The Twin Twisters is not recommending for children or people with high blood pressure. There are more water rides for people to choose from. The people that do not like water

    There are two vacation spots I frequently visited in my youth that hold special memories for me. The two places are Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. When I was very young and lived in South Florida, my family would make our yearly two-week vacation to our home in Boone, NC. Each year, this trip included a visit to Gatlinburg. I hold very special memories of these trips and still love to visit the Gatlinburg area. When I moved to North Carolina in my late teens, Myrtle Beach was the vacation and summer break spot. Even on my first visit to Myrtle Beach, although very different, it instantly reminded me of my trips to Gatlinburg as a child. Although both places are very different, in many ways they are very much the same. After going from the vacationing child, to the paying adult, I realized more and more how both places appeal to the same vacationer. I also realized that forms of entertainment were either the same or comparable. Myrtle Beach and Gatlinburg compliment and differ in many ways, and a few of those examples are stage entertainment, restaurants, and scenic vacation experiences. Both vacation spots have tons of entertainment. Sometimes the problem with family vacation spots is not what are we going to do, but how are we going to do it all In Myrtle Beach, some of my favorite entertainment activities are Big Laughs Theatre Wild 4 Hypnosis Comedy Show. Located in Surfside Beach, SC, this show is a belly-laughing good time. This show consists of audience members being hypnotized and doing funny things they do not remember. The show is great for all ages, which makes it a family favorite. Another fun entertaining place in Myrtle Beach is The Carolina Opry. The Carolina Opry is the only show named, Top Attraction in Myrtle Beach by CNN, New York Times, and USA Today, just to name a few.     The Mauch Chunk Switchback railway in eastern Pennsylvania, made the roller coasters not for entertainment in the 1820’s, but for coal mining (Source A). The first passengers were mules (Source A). The mules and the coal were coasted from the top of Mount Pisgah down to a canal (Source A). By 1844. A track to return stuff had been laid and the system was dubbed the Switchback , which was one the first american coasters (Source A). But, as the mines were expanding throughout the neighboring mountains, the switchback became useless (Source A). In 1870, the Yankee shrewdness made the railway from a miner’s helper to a renowned tourist attraction throughout America (Source A). Soon, they created a railway called the Scenic Railway, which made passengers get a ride up and down a mountain for a good one dollar (Source A). Then the roller coasters began to evolve and became the number one entertainment in the 19th century (Source C). Coney Island, an entertainment destination, created the a 30- foot high circular loop constructed in 1900 called the Flip-Flop and it was closed due to health concerns, but people paid to watch it work in action (Source A). Over the next 30 years, the rides continued to thrive and were joined by wooden roller coasters (Source C).     We can go on Millennium Force later” I replied. We all agreed to go on Millennium Force later and decided to go to Magnum. We waited in line again for an hour or so before it was our turn. The Magnum did not scare me because it was meant to be a fast coaster rather than a tall one, which i enjoyed. It was a metal coaster that zoomed through on its red tracks. We rode the Magnum and decided to move onto Wicked Twister. Wicked Twister was one of my favorite rides because although it was really simple, it gave us a great view of Lake Erie. The ride had a U-shaped curve, the coaster went from one end to another with twists on each end. Once we rode the Wicked Twister a couple of times we decided it was time to find our parents for a small lunch break. We searched for around 10 minutes when we finally spotted them sitting down. We all had a quick lunch of pizza and a small drink before we resumed our conquest to ride the roller coasters. We walked around for a half hour so that we could digest our food before we made our way to the line for the Raptor. The Raptor was another classic Cedar Point ride that had crazy twists and turns accompanied with great speed. The special thing about the raptor was that there was no seat, but we were standing up and harnessed in.
