Theme Of Violence In Macbeth
Violence in Macbeth In the play Macbeth there is a lot of violence happening during the play. Some of the events that happened in Macbeth is when Macbeth killed Duncan, when she kills her best friend Banquo. This research paper will be about some of the events that had some type of violence during the play. In the play Macbeth one of the main events is when Macbeth killed Duncan. In act 2 scene 3&4 is when they kill Duncan. In the book it says that “Macbeth says that Duncan is still asleep. He offers to take Macduff to the king. As Macduff enters the king’s chamber, Lennox describes the storms that raged the previous night, asserting that he cannot remember anything like it in all his years. With a cry of “O horror, horror, horror!” Macduff comes running from the room, shouting that the king has been murdered Macbeth put a dagger into Duncan and took his life right instantly Macbeth and Lennox rush in to look, …show more content…
Macbeth hired three guys to kill Banquo and his, son but it backfired on him, and Fleance. Banquo's son did escape. Macbeth heard the news from the murderer that said “most royal sir, Fleance has escaped. “When he heard the news Macbeth got really mad. After he heard the news that he escaped he then went to Macduff home hoping that he was there to kill him but he was not there. Macduff’s wife was there so Macbeth asked her where MacDuff was. After she answered, he then killed Macduff’s wife and son without hesitation. After all the killing he did to get all the power he has now he felt so guilty that he started to sleep walk. In conclusion, in the play Macbeth there is a lot of violence happening during the play. Macbeth always wanted power so she killed Duncan to become king. After he became king he wanted more power so he started to kill more people. All the killing got Macbeth to feel guilty so he started to sleep

    In this third stage, Macbeth is driven by power and getting more nervous by the second, and vows to kill as much as necessary to keep the throne saftly. After Banquo's kill, Lady Macbeth starts having second thoughts and begins to RECEDE from center stage and Macbeth takes her place as the most COMPELLING character in the play. Macbeth's newly confident ambition and lack of sympathy is shown in his conversation with Lennox about the troublesome night of Banquo's murder. In this conversation, Lennox is upset and talks about Banquo's death and the BAD weather of the previous night, to which Macbeth can say nothing but, yes, " Twas a rough night" (act 2. Sc. 3.     A significant event in this story was when Macbeth murdered Duncan. This struck uneasiness throughout Scotland and some people feared for their lives.     Murder is a recurring theme in the tragedy of Macbeth. Although there are countless murders, the play DOES distinguish between honorable and dishonorable violence. For example, Macbeth begins to form an internal conflict prior to murdering Duncan. The conflict can be seen throughout lines 34-64 of Scene 2 in Act two, specifically with the lines, “I see thee yet, in form as palpable as this which now I draw.” This murder is definitely seen as a dishonorable death, as Macbeth murders Duncan due to the fact that he wishes the prophecy to come true. Another example of dishonorable death would be in scene three of act three, when murderers are hired to kill Banquo. This death is seen as dishonorable as it was only committed to fulfill the prophecy. Not only was it dishonorable for that specific reason; it was seen as dishonorable as Banquo’s ghost came back to haunt Macbeth while having dinner with the lords. Macbeth constantly sees the ghost throughout dinner, specifically when the ghost sits in Macbeth’s chair. This shows how dishonorable it was to murder Banquo, as it was only to fulfill the prophecy. However, the play does distinguish between dishonorable and honorable deaths. Macbeth’s death in the end was honorable, as he deserved to die. Macbeth was responsible for the madness throughout the entire story, killing countless men as he was afraid of the revelations that had came true from the prophecy. Macduff’s killing of Macbeth was done due to the fact that Macduff was avenging his family; however, Macbeth’s killings were done out of terror. Without a doubt, the tragedy of Macbeth distinguishes between honorable and dishonorable deaths. This play also can be seen as a plea for peace and human harmony, by supporting the fact that people will murder not only out of greed, but out of honor as well.…
