A School Prefect As A Leader
A school prefect is the representative of the school authority to the students thus a school prefect must be a leader and must possess leadership attributes to function effectively. Leadership has been described as a process of social influence in which a person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task. Great leaders have great team and are also equally accomplished team players. An American football player and coach Vince Lombardi observed that “individual commitment to a group effort is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work and a civilization work”. An individual prefect commitment to the school effort is what makes the school prefect system work.
Team And Team Player
` A team is a group of people involved in the same activity and works towards achieving the same goals. The word “team” can be explained with the acronym thus T =Together; E = Everybody; A = Achieves M = More. A team player is a member of a group who shares the same goal with the group and puts the group goal ahead of his or her personal interest. The acronym of the word “TEAM” can also be used to explain a team player thus a team player is T = Teachable, E = Energizer, A = Achievers, M = Mission-Focused. The difference between success and failure is a great team. No matter how smart, talented, driven or passionate a school prefect is, his or her success as a prefect depends on his/her ability to build, inspire and work with others as a team player.
