The Role Of Bullying In Perks Of Being A Wallflower
More than 160,000 kids stay home from school each day to avoid being bullied. The theme of bullying is present in the novel Perks of Being A Wallflower and the movie Cyber bully. These well known stories significantly show viewers the strong impact bullying has on teens. Three major affects bullying has on teens is it can lead to substance use, suicide, and avoidance. Substance use is high among teens, some reasons why teen’s use is because social media, escape and self-medication, and lack of confidence. In the novel Perks of Being A Wallflower Charlie used alcohol and drugs, like marijuana and LSD when he lost his close friends Sam and Patrick after kissing Sam. In the film Cyber bully drugs are taken place but in a different setting. Taylor
