The Pros And Cons Of Being Bored
What if I told you that you spend an average of 10 hours a day tied to the media;

would you argue against that? Many people could argue that without scrolling through

media whenever you please is, well, boring. Today, the concept of boredom is frowned

upon, but our health is counting on it. Cutting off the world for a bit each day to sit and

ponder about your life is essential to do, and boredom is that necessary filter when

there's too much in front of us. We have too much time on our hands where we end up

tied to a screen, and with this technology there's no way to be bored. Yet, being bored

is vital to the human life because it can prevent technology addictions, as well as boost

your creativity.

Although boredom is good for your brain stimulation and prevents tech

addictions, it has some downsides. There are those people who don't have the creative

trait, so they can't daydream or turn to other creative activities other than being on

their phone. This can result to becoming hooked on drugs or alcohol. Because of this,

some could argue that boredom isn't effective. Yet, creative activities aren't the only

thing there is to do to occupy yourself when bored, so being non-creative is no excuse.

In conclusion, boredom is vital to the human community because it helps

invigorate brain activity, such as boosting your creativity or becoming aware of

new things, as well as prevent tech addictions. Although some people do not

have the creative characteristic, it is not a justification for turning to technology

when bored. There are other things to do, for example, reading or pondering

about your life, things that are considered boring. There are so many other

things to depend on for entertainment other than technology,
