“Strategic management includes understanding the strategic position of an organisation, making strategic choices for the future, and managing strategy in action.” (Johnson, Scholes and Whittington, 2008, p.12).
This project is going to analyse all of the important factors of The Ministry of Sound case study from a strategic management point of view, in both the early years of the company’s growth and in the latest period. It will also look at the company’s future direction and evaluate the strategy that should be implemented.
1. What were the most important issues in the Ministry’s environment that shaped the company’s development both in the early years of the company’s growth and in the latest period? List the major opportunities and threats in 2004.
The environment is what gives organisations their means of survival. In the private sector, happy clients keeps an organisation in the business. A PESTEL model includes the collection and interpretation of evidence about external aspects which have, or may have, an impact on the business. This model will be used in this project in order to describe the most important issues in the company’s environment that shaped its development both in the early years of the company’s growth and in the latest period. The PESTEL analysis classifies environmental influences into six main types: political, economic, social, technological, ecological and legal. It is significant, especially for managers, to investigate how these elements are changing now and how they are tend to change in the future and develop appropriate recommendations for the organisation.
