Nobody is perfect in this world. Everyone has their own weakness including me. One of my potential weaknesses I may have that prevent me from getting employment is communication skills. Often I'm afraid to speak in English due to fear of my grammar and pronunciation are wrong. When being asked a question, I’m afraid to speak up my answers or ideas. The second potential weakness is critical thinking and problem solving. Sometimes I takes time to thinking on how to solve a problem and I can’t solve it in a few minutes. If suddenly being asked a question on “how” “why” and “what”, I don’t think that I can response it in a given time. Then, the other potential weakness is experience. Many people think that they shouldn’t include unpaid experience such as school and volunteer work in their resume for interview. However, experience, paid or not, is still experience as long as they can relate it to the job that they are applying for.

After learning this about myself, I need to work on making my weakness into strength by adapting to any type of changes in my life. My strengths included following instructions and adhering to values. I am very good when I have instructions in front of me as I build something new or when I have an assignment. Following instructions is my biggest strength in my life because it is something I use every day. Adhering to values is something new that I learned about myself just because I never noticed it in my life. I am the type of person who will stand by the truth in every situation around my.…

While I finish projects on time, I wait too long to start them. This threatens long term goals and growth, as they must be achieved through constant progress over time. Another weakness I must improve upon is multitasking. I often become too focused with whichever task seems important or urgent, and lose focus of other responsibilities. This can cause long term goals to be eclipsed be seemingly important immediate tasks. For example, networking may be overlooked in favour of completing assignments. I also must specifically work on my social skills. I tend towards being an introvert and therefore must work harder to make social connections. This means I must be willing to go beyond my comfort zone and become a more vocal leader. I also suffer from crippling depression. Finding relatable memes always cheers me up, so it’s not a big deal. Another issue I have is dealing with ambiguity. If I do not understand something, it tends to cause me stress or avoidance. I will need minimize this to improve on other weaknesses, such as procrastination. Lastly, I tend to be a follower. Often, I will imitate others rather than set my own…

Even though my sister lives in Washington DC now, I still find myself marveling at the Discovery Channel – my favorite shows being “Mythbusters” and “Discovery Project Earth.” These programs hold my attention in ways that allow me to focus my aptitude for and interest in science and engineering. By watching “Mythbusters,” I have witnessed how a working knowledge of science and engineering can work as the foundation on which to build an exciting, versatile, and productive career in engineering. Additionally, the entire cast of “Mythbusters” constantly reveals their unique personalities and senses of humor all while carrying out their responsibilities. The ability to be creative, use my intellect, and maintain my sense of humor are very important aspects of my education and future career that I can see resulting from an engineering degree. Not only has “Mythbusters” served as a significant influence on my future aspirations, but so has “Discovery Project Earth.” This miniseries relays information about the new technology and methods that scientists are creating and utilizing to reduce global warming and dependency on fossil fuels. While watching each episode religiously, I became aware of my concern for the environment and its protection. I watched the new methods being developed and could picture myself carrying out research of this nature in hopes of making a positive difference in the world and in people’s lives. I realized that I do not merely want to skate by in life behind a desk; I want to accomplish something, to continually be intrigued by and interested in my career, and to make a difference in the world – all through engineering.…
