the day my house exploded
The Day My House Exploded
I have been through many life changing situations in the past 12 years. These situations have had both positive and negative impact on me. One of the events that most affected my life was when one of the bombs fell down on our house through the operation Iraqi freedom while me and all of my family all were inside the house but with God bless we get over it safe.
Let’s go back 11 years ago Under Operation Iraqi Freedom, U.S. military operations focused on achieving several specific objectives: to end the regime of Saddam Hussein, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, and to capture and drive out terrorists from Iraq ,Collect intelligence on terrorist networks, collect the intelligence on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction activity ,Secure Iraq's oil fields and deliver humanitarian relief and end sanctions Coalition forces remained in Iraq: to help restore Iraq's degraded infrastructure, deliver humanitarian support, and to create conditions for a transition to a representative self-government for the Iraqi people At this time I was living in Iraq with my family same house as any middle east family I have 3 more sisters and one brother ,mom and dad we were all at home that day since the operation Iraqi freedom start march 19 when the Coalition bombing of Iraq and the Troops push from the American Bases in south of Iraq into Baghdad then through many battle the Ground troops clash at airport at April/4th then the U.S. forces enter Baghdad in the 5th was Historical day for all the world but it is more than this for me and my family at I did remember this day like it is yesterday it was a very special for me that it is why I’ll share it with you all
We woke up this morning to see the American tanks driving through the main street. my family and our neighbors were standing on our house’s roof looking at them and seeing the American helicopters throwing the bombs

The United States mission the first time was to find and detain Osama bin Laden after he ordered the 9/11 attack. During the war many soldiers’ lives were lost, severely injured and/or changed drastically. Our soldiers that were injured or gave the ultimate sacrifice did it to keep our country safe and help the Iraqi government get control of their country. We did finally find and kill Osama Bin Laden but to what cost. A lot of families will never be the same due to this war, they lost brother, sisters, sons, daughters, uncles, aunts, and cousins. The United States completed their mission and helped with establishing a new government structure; therefore the war should be over and let the Iraqi government try to fend for themselves. The U.S. has gone into even more debt due to this war.…

“President George W. Bush is reaching out to Fallujah, the major foreign policy initiative of the second Bush administration. The name: Operation Phantom Fury. The strategy: Precision-strike democracy. The message: kill them all, and let God sort them out.”(Asia Times, Nov 10) After insurgents made an atrocious attack on Americans, the U.S forces launched a major assault in an attempt to re-establish security in Fallujah. The resulting engagements set off widespread fighting throughout Central Iraq and along the Lower Euphrates. Air bombardments rained on insurgent positions throughout the city in the attempt of the United States to take control. After three days of fighting, it was estimated that the United States had gained control over 25% of the city but after LT Gen Conway turned forces over to the Iraqis, the group dissolved and had turned over all the US weapons to the insurgency by September prompting the necessity of the Second Battle of Fallujah in November, which successfully occupied the city.…

Call it growing up or call it maturing, but after this happened my world changed because I realized that my parents, especially my father, struggled everyday to give me and my older brother what we had and that I should be beyond proud of them. My dad being the only working adult in our household has always had the whole responsibility of taking care of us, going and working in terrible conditions and terrible jobs to be able to give us what we had. He never for one moment in his life had it easy. He along with his younger brother and sister were abandoned in his home country, El Salvador, by his mother and father, which led him to have to grow up early and become an adult and parent to his sibling. This lead them to travel to America in search of an opportunity for a better life and they indeed found a home here, but good things can not always last forever. My father lost his younger brother and this drove him to bury himself in his work, which killed me to see my father, the person I most loved in this world, slowly lose himself.…

When the U.S. gets involved with other countries on war matters it only hurts our country as a whole and wastes lives. The U.S. has to stop trying to protect and bomb other countries because it's doing more harm than good for our country. The Vietnam War is a great example of when the United States shouldn't've gotten involved as quickly as they did. Stated as fact, 864,000 bombs were used in operation rolling thunder (1965-1968).…

“What separates us from the animals, what separates us from the chaos, is our ability to mourn people we’ve never met.” - David Levithan. Just under fourteen years ago we were attacked on our own soil for the first time since December 7, 1941 when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. Although I wasn’t old enough to remember this day I feel like I was one of the millions of Americans to witness the terror attacks on September 11, 2001. September 11th was a horrific event in United States history and has left a permanent mark on our country to this day.…

I will never forget the morning of September 11,2001, and there are so many Americans that feels the same way. There was no banter between family members, were not talking about the usual every day life, instead there was live coverage of big events happening in downtown Manhattan. Though I was not fully wake, I tried to focus in on the T.V., I saw fire and smoke flowing from the World Trade Center, where there used to be two towers there was only one. As I watched, the news anchors spoke about how the missing tower had just collapsed, that woke me up; the news was immense.…

The World Trade Center was blazing, debris was falling, and bodies were hitting the ground. People were weeping in despair while covered in ash and soot. First responders were running around everywhere trying to save lives. What they do is not easy in any kind of manner; they are risking their lives in most everything they do. Americans will never overlook the ones who sacrificed their lives for us that day.…

One moment I was running, running fast, quickly, aggressively. The next moment I’m on the ground crying holding my leg. It happened so fast I didn’t know one movement from the next. After a while I notice I’m on the bench with an ice bag on my knee, while watching my team lose to a great team. After the game I went to the mall able to walk again. The next day I played again, thinking it was nothing but a bruise.…
