Why is calling superior to texting? Today's verbal communication skills have plummeted with the assist of technology. Normal everyday conversations are rather dull, and some people are far from capable of having a good conversation with people every day. You are able to hear their voice, their tone, and their expression. A call shows respect and the fact that you are giving that person your full attention. While you are shooting a text, you could be doing numerous other things at the same time. It isn't personal, or connected.
But, how is texting better than calling? Most people live very busy lives. Within one day you may have work or school, appointments, sports, shopping, and family matters to attend to. Sitting down and chatting via cell phone isn't always handy. While it is less connected, you can send a friend a text within seconds. But time isn't the only reason texting is favored by many.
If you're in danger, calling 9-1-1, or just a family member or friend is risky. Not only can someone track your call easier than a text, they may hear you attempting to cry for help. If you send a text, you may get yourself closer to safety. Along the same lines, people like to talk about personal situations, or in general, things you would rather not speak about around hundreds of people in a public area.
