Summer Conference Assistant Case Study
What strategies would you apply to make sure the customer is having a positive experience at UTSA?
As a summer conference assistant, I believe some of the strategies that I would use is to simply talk to the residents and know what they exactly like and don’t like in order to cater their needs. We need to ask them first and foremost. Besides that, we need to make sure the rooms are kept up to date and maintained and ensure that there are plenty of programs they could attend and inform them about the programs that are taken place But above all else, making sure that customers are satisfied and that they are taken care of has a direct correlation to their happiness. The only way to ensure direct communication as a summer conference assistant

And in order to assure that the teams are working together successfully, we need to make sure everyone’s needs in the team are also being met. Therefore, I would make sure there are no conflicts between team members and then have each individual take care of their individual assignments in order to benefit our customers. The entire point of teamwork as a summer conference assistant is simply to make sure that the residents’ needs are put first and the rules for housing are being followed. If we can address and accomplish these two goals that would ensure that teamwork is well. As long as everyone performs their part and everyone put in an equal amount of work the team work is successful. And in order to make sure that everyone is putting in the amount of work, once again I cannot stress enough how important communication is in this entire process. I have always had an amazing experience while living at UTSA because of the level of communication between me and my resident assistant as well as if needed be the manager of the complex. Everyone that I have talked to has been very friendly, and I intend to reciprocate and extend that level of communication if I am hired for this

Team work is important in school for the school to run smoothly and for the curriculum and lessons to be delivered. This means that all the staff have to work as a team from the Head teacher to TA’s to the office staff to dinner supervisors. This allows all individuals within the staff to achieve their goals and effectively support the children. For example if the teacher needs photo copying doing it would mean she had to leave the class and leave the children unsupervised but as a team she asks the TA to take it to the office and ask them to do it, the office staff take the work and photo copy it allowing the TA to swiftly return to class to support the teacher, the office staff then bring the photo copies when they are done so that the learning experience of the children is not hindered and the children’s safety is not compromised by the teacher leaving the room.…

Becoming familiar with team members is the primary method to know the best way to manage the performance of a team. Completing the team charter provided the foundation for team members to express their thoughts and processes of an effective team. As a learning team we established some ground rules: necessity of a team leader, checking in with team frequently, expressing problems early on. Overall, the expectations appear to be similar among all team members: encouraging communication with team members, sharing equal responsibility for the assignments, requesting and accepting assistance when needed from other team members in order to complete an assignment on time. When these expectations are not met it could result in conflict. When conflict occurs, professionalism and a direct approach will work best to manage the situation; we agree this will allow the team members to resolve the matter and continue with assignment.…

Getting the chance to work in a group of colleagues always turn into a new learning experience for me. From this experience, I learned more about the importance of prioritizing and scheduling. Upon reflecting on how well the members of my group worked together, I would rate the level of team work a 4 (fair) on a scale ranging from 1 (I’m mad) to 5 (excellent). Overall, the group worked well together. We all had similar ideas for what we wanted to do for the next step in getting additional support for occupational therapists. However, there was some friction among members due to scheduling. While some members tried to be as flexible as possible with their schedules, others could not be as compliant. Nonetheless, we as a group, were able to resolve our issues in order to progress on.…
