The present study entitled, “Study of Customer Preference towards Savings Schemes of Laluk Post Office, A Case Study, Submitted to Dibrugarh University in Partial Fulfilment of Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce With Specialization in Marketing” is for the fulfilment of B.Com, Part III course. In course of the study I have realised that the Department of Posts, is indeed doing a noble task by setting up post offices even at remote places and is involved promoting savings among the rural people. This study would not have been possible without the help of the professors of my college. In this context, I take this opportunity to sincerely thank my supervisor and guide, Prof. K.M. Bhagawati, Associate Professor, Dept of Marketing Management, D.H.S.K. Commerce College, who has been by my side right from the very beginning of the project. From the selection of the topic, to the certificate of genuineness of the project, he has constantly been a motivating force and a source of guidance. I also sincerely recognize the debts to the scholars whose research and studies, I have used as sources of information and guidance for the completion of this project. I also offer my heartfelt thanks to the professors of my department (Marketing Management), including the Head of the Department of Marketing Management, Prof. R.K. Gogoi, and Dr. J. I also take the opportunity to offer my sincere gratitude to the Sub Postmaster, the employees and the agents of Laluk Sub Office, for their kind support and assistance in providing data relating to the status of the savings schemes of the Laluk Post Office. I also owe my debts to the staff of the Branch Offices under Laluk Post Office, who have kindly assisted with information relating to the status of the savings schemes in those offices. I am also grateful to the village headman of Laluk, who furnished me with various data relating to the study area and who has been of immense help. Without the help and support of the respondents, this study would have been a failure. So I take this opportunity to thank all of my respondents.
