Personally, I take spring break by the actual name a break from school and our jobs. I do not go out very often on this week I usually just stay home, utilize it trouble-easy, and facile, for example, I do not use spring break to party at South Padre and acquire entertainment over there, I stayed home to rest, consequently I did not receive any trouble this affects me in a way that I feel safer at my place, resulting in me not causing any trouble in any way shape or form, just stayed home to take a break from school. This spring break 2017 from a personal point of view was not extremely exciting,

Some Sumer activities that I like to do or achieve for the school break are having fun with my friends and family and play. On really hot days we go down to the lake and play in the water or go fishing. I also like to play with my dog and go for walks with her if I'm not dragging her all the way there and back. Sometimes I do work with my dad most of the times it involves a lot of elbow grease. I love to do fun activities with my mom that does relate a little work, at the end she gets us a treat. On the days I'm not doing anything I go out with friends or they come to my house, and if I'm good we go to get air, other wise, we just watch movies and relax. On other days when we are in the garden I like to swim, maybe even play with the sprinklers and bother my brothers.…

They say that there are no summer breaks for kids to lose their stress from schoolwork. This might be a strong point nonetheless, there is evidence to the contrary. In “The pros and cons of year-round schools” says,“…a year-round schedule offers the same 180 days of schooling as the traditional calendar…” This evidence shows that, the students have the same amount of school days and amount of days off. “…vacations are distributed differently. So instead of having 10 or 12 weeks off in summer, kids might have a series of three-week breaks”(Harpez). The breaks would be spread throw out the year so, students are less stressed. Schools would not do year-round schools if they didn’t have breaks for students to relax with their family and…

Frequent breaks in the school year allow students and teachers to recharge themselves, be more active in class, and have higher academic achievement. Students and teachers can get tired if they have ongoing class for ten months without a break big enough to recharge. Some of the illnesses that people could have fought off when they were fully rested could make them sick and make more people absent (edweek.org). Absences due to illnesses can be sustained by year round school because of the time to recharge and can raise their academic achievement by having more time in class than when they would usually be sick. Although summer vacation may be fun, having frequent breaks in the school year can help students retain their knowledge and have higher academic achievement (nea.org). Retaining knowledge because of shorter summer breaks…

In Patrick elementary school (at Heidelberg Germany), we had this tradition were the fifth grade class visit the first grade class, to show them what the older kids look like. As the older kids we had to act almost like an older brother/sister to the young kids, and tell them what to expect when they are the older kids. There were many young kids when my class went to visit them, some of the kids there were children that I already knew, for instance, Sahara, John, Cody, Trent, etc. Many of these kids I have already met since it was a pretty small school, I was paired up with a new kid to the school that gave me a hard time because, he didn't like older kids, his name was Kevin. When it came to assisting Kevin with his reading, or assignments,…

A percentage will argue that the students need to go outside and enjoy their well earned summer vacation. Following this, it is why there are countless breaks within the school year. Next, people fear it will create conflicts between school, family, and social activities, and if so, it will teach them to be tenacious and flexible with time. Overall, people fear and despise change, and would rather stick to what they know than to learn the unknown that could possibly aid the feared. “No matter what schedule schools choose, the biggest resistance comes from the fear of change” (Rasmussen).…

As a matter of fact, for the diligent, unceasingly studying students that we are, there would be nothing for us to do during break, a three week long limbo; no beach to go to, no families to visit, no parties to attend, no friends to go out with, no museum to explore, boring sports games to go to, no tv or movies to watch, no music to listen to, absolutely nothing fun to do over break, that is, without homework.…

Instead of getting one huge break at the end of the year you get multiple breaks. Not only is it beneficial for students and teachers, parents avoid the pricy trips and over populated places when it comes to vacations. Because students would still be in school when the summer times rolls around. Like most schools they follow a single schedule, with a year round school year they follow a multi task schedule which means teachers alternate every break so…

If they were to change the traditional school schedule, it would be a lot of confusion especially for parents that have to worry about getting their child to school. It would also cost our country a lot of money to switch the traditional school schedule. By eliminating summer break, students would not be able to experience the joy and freedom of the summer and the special time that would usually be spent with family and friends. Then when everyone goes back to school, they reunite with their friends from the last year or meet new people. If you take away a student's ability to have a vacation you increase the risk of…

Most importantly, year-round school would cause students to be exhausted. Even with the several shorter breaks, students would probably feel that they would be constantly working and stressed. Continuing to give students a longer break would allow them to rest and come back to school strong and ready for the upcoming year. A two or three month break is important to kids because they can be rewarded for a demanding school year. Summer allows children to balance work and play, which is important. Admittedly, some may argue that summer vacation causes children to forget everything, and this causes them to have to relearn and review forgotten concepts at the start of each new year. However, in my personal experience I have noticed that myself and others forget concepts just a few weeks into break, as opposed to a couple months into break. I have also noticed that after shorter vacations such as winter/spring break, kids come back needing a refresher of what they learned. Having to review concepts once a year is exhausting enough for both teachers and students. Imagine if this had to be done several times a year! It would defeat the purposes of having year-round school…

Moreover, the year-round schooling schedule presents problems in both student development and family life. Often, the summer break is used for families to travel or spend time together, for students to attend summer camps, and to take advantage of the season. The YRE system puts limits on these abilities. Though the same amount of holiday time exists, the shorter break puts limits on where, and for how long a family wishes to travel or a student may not get the opportunity to explore new things not available in school. It takes away the experience of long…

Spring break is a very popular vacation time for both students and teachers. If spring break were to be removed, a large attendance problem would likely erupt during Easter week. Families often have set weeks each year that they take off for vacation, and they would pull their students out of school. Wilson is also struggling with a lack of substitute teachers this year. If all of the teachers are using their vacation days over the same week, the substitute problem would worsen. Also, families aren’t likely to change their vacation week just because of school. People tend to follow tradition. If they’ve been using the week of Easter for the past few years, it is unlikely to change. After all, taking a vacation over spring break is very ideal. Airfare and hotels have decent prices, especially compared to over winter break. In many places, the weather is better during the spring than in winter or summer, and it may not be as crowded as it would be over other school breaks. Winter break is a very traditional and family-based time. Spring break is more relaxed and open to traveling or leisure. It is the perfect time for students and staff to wind-down and have a stress-reliever.…

The Rite of Spring is a ballet/orchestral piece composed by Igor Stravinsky and choreographed by Vaslav Nijinsky. Premiering on May 29th, 1913, at the Théatre des Champs-Elysées, The Rite of Spring was one of the most controversial and scandalous scores in the history of music and dance. Featuring elements of pagan sacrifice, outrageous costumes, and strange choreography, the performance started a riot in the audience and as a result, the choreography was never played along with the original music composition. While the latter has been played numerous times as a stand-alone orchestral piece, the dance hasn’t been as popular as time went on. It was however, recreated by several contemporary choreographers, namely Millicent Hodson, Maurice Bejart, Pina Bausch.…
