These are examples of how humans have physically impacted the beach and its structure. The flight deck is a human residential block of units on the edge of the beach. This unit block has massively affected the shaping and the beachfront of that area of Collaroy beach. The coastal processes that are threatening the erosion of the beachfront developments are, Erosion/Accretion Cycle (or sediment budget), destructive storm waves and king tides. These processes are slowly undermining the building and causing the dune under the units to become unstable and dangerous for people living in and around them. Also the salts from the waves blowing onto the units causes the metal to rust and the foundation of the building and balcony handrails to be at risk of being unreliable and…

Sand between my toes and enjoying some sun while gathered around with a group of friends is what I call, a definition of a great time. The ad Tampax Pearl from Seventeen magazines sells the product through the use of rhetorical fallacies logos, ethos, and pathos. There are six fallacies, and throughout the magazine they are represented by the text, the women in the white bikini, and the beach: false cause, hasty generalization, non sequitur, and appeal to ignorance, false authority, and bandwagon. In the background are the sounds of waves clashing against one another, the sun beginning to lower, and the scent of a bonfire. The game of limbo used as an entertainment to influence laughter, and competition spread to one another.…

The first few steps after the boardwalk may feel rather rocky due to scattered sediments and tiny pebbles sticking on to the soles of your feet, but by halfway to the ocean, it starts getting smooth and cooler with every step you take. If laying around and catching some ray is not your type of fun, there are beach volleyball courts set up, kites to be flown here and safe swimming with lifeguards on the look out. Gazing at the sandy shore, you can see the roaring waves rushing in, toppling forts and castles made out of silken sands that shimmers under the blazing sun like tiny luminous stars in the night sky. Take advantage of this peaceful, quiet moment by standing on the shoreline and wait for the rolling ocean water slide by the ankles of your leg. As the waves try to pull back in, you will feel a sinking sensation on the heels of your foot due to the pressure of your weight and the surrounding sand. Lastly, there is an area for youths with a big, plastic palm tree set up in the middle and tiny sprinklers around it, spraying cold, chilling drops that can be felt even to the people strolling on the boardwalk. The beach is always crowded with families and couples to enjoy on their days off and especially on Friday nights, gorgeous firework shoot off can be seen starting at 9:30p.m. (Only during the summer…

Ripples of water boil in the beaming sun making itself a big spa. Odd slimy seaweed flows in and out, rhythmically moving with the current, not causing a single suspense. Starving sea gulls squawk overhead like hunting vultures stalking their preys’, waiting for the predators to leave. The ocean breeze slams soundlessly against our bodies, forming golden sand into dunes filled with spinifex. Coconut trees dance moving its branches like a human arm. Coconut crabs tumble miserably falling down to the ground in attempt to climb a tree. Harmless, they try again. Hammocks dangle from tree to tree providing luxury and leisure for whoever lays in. Estuaries divide the beach creating shallow pools, fresh water flows into the ocean.…
