Souvenir Release
Very hearty thanks to all the wonderful people who have gathered here to witness the unveiling ceremony of ‘The Touchline Souvenir’ as a part of the 5th Anniversary celebrations of Al Khobar United Footbal Club.

I, Thomas Mathew and
I, Nibras

Al Khobar city in the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia is a bustling economic centre which has repeatedly proven its worth in various fields. It was in this vibrant city that United FC was formed in February 2008 and has now completed 5 magical years. The club has made its presence felt and gifted some amazing moments to the expats community.
The moment of glory came immediately on formation of the club as it won the very first tournament it participated in. It has since been an inspiration, as well as a challenge for other clubs and become an unavoidable presence on the field with its top notch players!
The club has further been a model, operating in various humanitarian and charitable works including collection RS 1 Lakh for a cancer stricken family.
The club management hopes to offer more innovations and varieties in the coming future with young and fresh faces.

The referee halted the game while firemen rushed to the field and removed the flares. After the smoke had cleared, the game did not resume” (Guschwan, M. 2007). A common theme amongst all the articles is the emotion, joy, and pure excitement as well as tragedy and turmoil, which the game brings to the fans, families, towns, cities, and nations. A club’s organization includes concrete and symbolic elements like the club’s jersey, flag, club history, colors, anthem, songs, mascot, stadium and titles. Fans take liberty in remembering the chants, buying and wearing the jerseys, hanging the flag outside their houses, and always wearing the colors with pride. Soccer fans try to motivate players, which in return increases their dedication to the team, which will make them contest for more championships (Morato, 2005). Such the intensity of the game to some, that two thirds of fans have cried at a football match, whether it is for joy or the occasional despair (cannon). The release of emotions described as the pure joy of watching football games generates an atmosphere within the stadium that nearly all fans see is being just as important as the game its self. Most football fans consider themselves the “12th” man on the field; they are essential to the success of the team. The actions the 12th man (fans) perform are the ritual chants, songs,…

Wembley’s iconic field is where all young players dream to compete with the biggest faces in the game. Picturesquely latticed patterns of fresh verdant waves create a canvas for the player’s masterpiece. In a fervently bold fashion, light dustings of whited field paint decide the crucial boundaries. Strong aluminum poles form the central framework for goal posts grounded in the soft earth on each end of the field, which are overlaid by tense thickly weaved netting, completing the goal’s shape. Seating in Wembley consists of a wide elliptical array of red plastic benches in the front and rows of nicer navy blue collapsible chairs in the higher parts of the stands. The supportive walls which spread around the field, enclosing visitors like a corral, reach several stories’ height. Significantly independent, brightly colored national flags are strategically dotted about the…

It is a modern stadium, even today. This day, Sunday April 29, 1979, started very early for my brother and me, I was very excited about the game and see it in the stadium. Every minute looks like one hour, that day ran so slowly, my brother and I were counting the seconds to go at the game. It was around 1 pm when we went out to the stadium, and when we arrived it was full of people, cars and, sellers. You can smell people’s passion. There were a lot of sellers selling memories about each team, t-shirts, food and too many things more. The atmosphere was really…
