Soccer: A Fictional Narrative
Today is a big day. It's the tryouts for soccer. Zach and I have practiced all summer for this day. Zach’s my best friend. It seems uncanny that a guy and a girl would be best friends, but it’s not. People would say “Oh, are you two boyfriend and girlfriend?” or something to that effect, but we’re not. I don’t have any desire to date him and I believe he has no desire to date me. At least not yet. “Hey Rosie Moore!” Zach said. I find it funny that he greets me by my full name, and I think he does too. “Hey Zach. You ready for today?” I said as we met up with each other and approached the field. “I better be. You and I have been practicing allllll summer,” he said as he rolled his dark brown eyes that flawlessly matched his hair. “Well, let's go.”

We’ve won 6 games and only lost 1. Zach and I haven’t talked very much. He’s been looking glum recently, and I know it’s because of me. I feel so bad about this whole situation, and I’m not sure what to do about it.
Fiona and I have been getting closer. It’s sort of bitter sweet, though. I’m going to try my best to break the ice between Zach and I.
I went up to him today and asked how he’s been. He gave me a short answer, something like, “Yeah I’m doing alright. What about you.” That wasn’t a good sign.
Every day after school I tried to talk to Zach like old times. Each day he got easier to talk to, so I was making some progress. Then, something peculiar happened. I got a new emotional attachment to Zach. I wanted to be with him all the time. I don’t know what this was about. I decided to tell Fiona.
“Hey Fiona, I have this, like, I get this,... HOw do I explain? It’s about Zach. Every time I see him, I know I want to talk to him. I want to be by his side at all times. What do you think is going on?”
“I’m going to be honest, Rose. I think you like him, too. Maybe you should tell him these feelings you have.”
I took her advice,

You have to tell him everything and you have to be honest” Alicia’s advice for me before they dropped me off. I came out of the car and I started looking for Nathan. I saw him sitting in a bench next to a tree. “Nathan!” I called him. “Oh hey Hailey let's go?” “Let's go where?” “Uhm I prepared something” then he blushed a little. We started walking towards a table that has flowers, foods, drinks, plates and etc. He handed me a bouquet of rose, I remembered he used to tell a red rose represents his love for me. I thanked him then I sit on the chair. He put a bread and variety of fruits on my plate, he also gave a cup of tea. “Do you want something else? I’ll buy it real quick” he offered. “No I'm fine, I ate breakfast already.” He started eating so I started eating my food as well. Both of us didn't talk of a good 15 minutes, it was extremely…

Freshman year is supposed to be for taking the first step into adulthood. I started out high school and resolved to do this by becoming friends with a bunch of upperclassmen. I added tons of people from Ross on Facebook which inevitably led me to Zack. I remember really liking him so I messaged him only to find out he had a girlfriend at the time. To my surprise, he talked to me anyways and after a few weeks they broke up because she didn’t like him having friends besides her. Now the person that I thought was the greatest guy ever was single and I made it my mission to date him. As a naive fourteen year old, I didn’t see how…

Throughout our lives, everyone has had to face difficulties and challenges. While these obstacles are unpleasant, they shape us into who we are today. One of the first obstacles that I had to overcome came in the form of a boy named Jeremy. I met Jeremy when I was in the first grade. The two of us had manage to become close friends. He was my first best friend. Coincidentally, we found out that we actually lived very close to each other. Since our houses were so conveniently close, we often visited each other. The two of us did everything together. Jeremy was the leader between us. He would be the one to come up with the games we played. I was just happy to hang out with him. I thought the two of would be friends for life, however it was not meant to be.…

In 8th grade, I went to a tiny school called Mountain Mahogany Community School. I had 3 best friends. One was a girl, Seaonna, and the other two were boys, Jordan and Josh. Jordan was never really one to open up. He was one of the most closed books I have ever encountered. It was hard to tell if he was sad, happy, angry, or just being a pain, unless you really got to know him. If I had to sum him up in one word, it would be difficult. He had this brooding aura about him. I didn’t really like him right away, but I wanted to be his friend because I like to help people, I guess. Or maybe I just attract people with bigger problems than most people, or it could even be the other way around. It took a while, but eventually he let me in.…

I decided to try out for the basketball team one more time. I went with my friend Pruze. He moved here from Chicago. Pruze is a big kid, but he is a really good basketball player. I always play basketball with him. He’s one of my closes friends. During tryouts today I noticed that the coach kept looking at Robert, he was on the team last year. During our scrimmage today I had to play against Robert. He scored on me a couple times. I got called for an offensive foul even though HE was pushing me the whole time. Today at tryouts I did better, I made all my shots. I felt more confident in myself. I had to play against this boy named Rudy; he alwaysss had something to say. Unfortunate for me he scored no points, while me? I hit two jumpers and a three pointer at the whistle. I thought my performance was better today than last time at tryouts. It turned out that wasn’t good enough for the team, I didn’t make it.…

We have a new classmate when I was in sixth grade and his name is Lorenzo. He stands 5’2” with an average hair cut. He has black, big eyes and a pointed nose. He got an average body type. You can see the skin complexion of a Filipino in him. He idolizes Britney Spears and he has a good singing voice too. He has a good family back ground. If you want to have a nice buddy, you should choose him. He usually treats us in our cafeteria with some delicious macaroni with sweet juice. Everyone became his friends because of his good attitude, including me. Lorenzo got his good looking best friends named Aaron and Brian who used to be my best friends too. When we reached high school, Lorenzo and I became best friend. We went to this fine, big mall in Ermita. We always ate tasty foods in our canteen and we watched some horror movies in his big, white house. We also shared our deepest, darkest secrets to each other. He gave me a silver necklace with a cross pendant. I thought that our friendship will last but then again I was wrong. When we were in second year, I didn’t expected him to do such a thing. He spreaded false rumors about me that I endured until I graduated. Right now, I’m very thankful for what he have done to me. I am what I am now because of him. He served as an inspiration for me to be a fine, responsible man as I can be.…
