Introduction
I walked into the room where I was met by my tutor, she talked me through the instructions on what to do. The first thing I done was introduced myself to the camera and then proceeded over to the table and picked two random skills that were facing down on the table so that I couldn’t see what they were. I then showed both of my skills to the camera, the ones I got were bathing and baby and spoon feeding a baby.

Skill 1:
I chose to carry out bathing the baby first as this skill required the most equipment and length of time to do. The first thing I done was gathered my equipment. I took the bath, mat, lotion, shampoo, sponge, towels, sudocream, a fresh nappy and bag, cotton wool and then I got my baby and lay him down onto the mat. I started with topping and tailing my baby, we do this because it decreases the length of time the baby has to spend in the bath shortening the time he has to be exposed to the cold. I squeezed some lotion into the bath and checked the temperature with my elbow as this is more sensitive area than my hand. I picked up my baby and held him into the football position so his head was secure and supported in the palm of my hand. I then squeezed a small amount of shampoo into my hand and rubbed it gently into my baby’s scalp with palm of my hand, I didn’t squeeze directly onto his head because this can cause cradle cap. I then lay him back down on the mat and patted his head dry. I almost forgot my small fresh bowl of non-soapy water but did remember it once I was about to start so I left my baby for a second and got it. I dipped the cotton wool into the fresh bowl of water and began cleaning his eyes from the inner corner to outer corner changing the cotton wool on each eye to prevent the spread of potential infection. I then used some more damp cotton wool to get into the creases and folds of baby fat as these can be hard areas to get at with a sponge and commonly prone to rashes/infections. Then I used the soapy water I had
