Should Schools Sell Flavored Milk
The average amount of soda that a kid drinks a day is 2-3 20 ounce containers, that's about 50-60 tsp. of sugar in a child's diet with no nutritional value. Parents, school officials, and nutritionists have been debating about whether or not schools should sell flavored milk. Well schools should sell flavored milk. Schools should sell flavored milk, because there are many good vitamins and nutrients in flavored milk, is superior to most other drinks, and besides vitamins and nutrients there are other great health benefits.
There are many vitamins and nutrients in flavored milk that children need. Some people will say well strawberry is a flavor of milk and has the same amount of sugar as a cola. Well a lot of that sugar is natural and the nutrients make up for it. According to “Raise your hand for chocolate milk” flavored milk provides 3 out of 5 nutrients missing from most children's diets. There are also 9 essential nutrients in flavored milk.In the video created by Dairy Nutrition it says, chocolate milk contains nutrients that other drinks don’t.

In the same video by Dairy Nutrition it shows that the claim I just stated is true. For example in 1 bottle of an off-brand sports drink there are about 7 tsp. of added sugar. In a can of cola there is about 9 tsp. of added sugar, while chocolate milk only contains 3 tsp. of added sugar as well as other nutrients that those and other drinks do not, such as, vitamin D, vitamin A, protein and calcium. Some may argue “No, chocolate milk has 26 grams of sugar” well that may be true but, it only has 3 grams of added sugar the rest are natural sugars. In conclusion chocolate milk is way better for you than other

One reason why we shouldn’t have soda machines at school is because having soda machines at our school would make kids too hyper. A lot of sodas have tons of caffeine in them, as well as sugar and other bad things. The kids would be making jokes, talking, laughing, and commenting during work time! As a kid, I know how it feels. Caffeine is very powerful, believe me. Kids wouldn’t really listen to their teacher. At all. So hyper they can’t even listen! But, that’s just what caffeine, sugar, and a bunch of other bad things, does to you.…

Chocolate milk has become a large controversy in schools around the world. Teenagers seem to crave sugary drinks, and the growing intake of sugar by young people has kept the Food Ministry on edge. The average daily consumption of sugar by teenagers was higher, at 69.6 grams (2.4 ounces), than that of any other age group, according to the results of a survey released. Soft drinks were said to be the biggest contributor to that sugar intake. New York City had planned to implement their ban on large sugary drinks such as soda but the ban was rejected because restaurants and food service industries protested the ban. So, there are continuous debates on the issue. In my opinion, because the bans can’t help lower amount of soda’s intake and are ineffective and have no regard for our liking, they are not necessary.…
