Sherlock Holmes is known to solve very hard mysteries that almost nobody can solve. But in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle mystery story, “The Adventure of the Speckled Band”, he solved one mystery that nobody would have expected for who have caused it. Holmes figures out Dr. Roylott had caused Julia’s death. It all started when he noticed the bed was clamped to the floor, there was a bell pull that did not work, and there was a ventilator connected between Dr.Roylott’s and Julia’s room. During Holmes investigation he discovers clamps on a bed.
One of the last significant clues was the discovery that Julia’s bed was clamped to the floor. Holmes connected the bed with the dummy bell pull he has found earlier. From there he realized, “... That the bed

Holmes saw that the ventilator was not connected to the outdoors. Holmes exclaimed that,‴ For example, what a fool a builder must be to open a ventilator into another room, when, with the same trouble, he might have communicated with the outside air!‷(123). By that, he had figured out that Dr. Roylott’s room was next door. Holmes had to comprehend about how the snake would be able to get to Dr. Roylott’s room at Julia’s; the ventilator. He concluded that the ventilator was used as a way for the snake to get into Julia’s room, not for venting to outdoor air. By the time he had figured out what the ventilator was used for, he saw the bell pull.
The most obvious clue was the bell pull. It hung on to Julia’s bed but as told, it never worked completely. The bell pull was used has for when Julia needed service, she would pull it, but it has another meaning. As said in the story it said, “... Instantly gave rise to the suspicion that the rope was there was a bridge…” (132). The bell pull was a passageway to get to Julia. It was never used to get service, but a guide to kill her. There were so many clues to figure out who killed Julia.
In Sir Arthur Conan Doyle mystery story, “ The Adventure of the Speckled Band”, there was Sherlock Holmes in it. In the story, Holmes had figured out Dr. Roylott killed Julia by using a snake. Schechter describes what the place was like: Holmes’ Castle included soundproof sleeping chambers with peepholes, asbestos-padded walls, gas pipes, sliding walls, and vents that Holmes controlled from another room. Many of the rooms had low ceilings and trapdoors in the floors, with ladders leading to smaller rooms below. The building had secret passages, false floors, rooms with torture equipment, and a specially equipped surgery. There were also greased chutes that emptied into a two-level cellar, in which Holmes had installed a large furnace. There was even an asbestos-lined chamber with gas pipes and evidence of something having been burned inside. It was believed that Holmes placed his chosen victims into the special chambers into which he then pumped lethal gas, controlled from his own bedroom, and then watched them react. Apparently, he gained some fiendish pleasure from this activity. Sometimes he'd ignite the gas to incinerate them, or perhaps even place them on the “elasticity determinator,” an elongated bed with straps, to see how far the human body could be stretched. When finished, he might have slid the corpses down the chutes into his cellar, where vats of acid and other chemicals awaited them. (Many more details about Holmes’ activities here can be found in Schecter’s and Larson’s…

Queenie Volupides isn't telling the truth about the events that led to the death of her husband of her husband Arthur.
