Ronaldo: 'Sadness' not about money

Cristiano Ronaldo has rejected suggestions that he is "sad" on a professional level because he is seeking more money at Real Madrid.

Ronaldo, 27, refused to celebrate either of his two goals in the Spanish champions' victory over Granada at the weekend and said after the game: "I am sad, and the people at the club know about it. It's about professional issues. I can't say any more."
The Spanish media has since suggested a combination of more money and "more love" from Real are required to lift the Portugal international's spirits.
However, in a statement released via Twitter on Tuesay, Ronaldo said: "That I am feeling sad and have expressed this sadness has created a huge stir. I am accused of wanting more money, but one day it will be shown that this is not the case.
"At this point, I just want to guarantee to the Real Madrid fans that my motivation, dedication, commitment and desire to win all competitions will not be affected.
"I have too much respect for myself and for Real Madrid to ever give less to the club than all I am capable of. Abrazos (hugs) to all madridistas."
