Health care managers, also known as health services managers and health administrators, direct the operation of hospitals, health systems and other types of organizations. They have responsibility for facilities, services, programs, staff, budgets, relations with other organizations and other management functions, depending on the type and size of the organization. (“Health Administrator”, 2012). The four major functions of management in a health care setting are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. The purpose of these functions is very important because they set the goal of organizational success for healthcare settings. Planning helps management to make an action plan for the organizational goals. Organizing helps management to assign and organize employees to carry out the plan for these organizational goals. Leading allows management to communicate and encourage employees to meet the organizational goal. Controlling is management following the results of the organizational plan. Managing yourself also means developing and applying appropriate technical, interpersonal, and conceptual skills and competencies and being comfortable with them, in order to be able to effectively move to the next level-that of supervising others.…

I believe that the functions and role of laws in businesses and society are very integrated and important. Laws are used in order to ensure that businesses don’t monopolize the market just as an example. Laws are also very important because they ensure that businesses treat their employee’s correctly, they are used to regulate the relationship between employees and the business they are working for. There are a few different types of laws that protect the people as stated in our text book The Legal Right of Business e1: Substantive laws provide individuals with rights and create certain duties. Procedural laws provide a structure and set of out rules of pursuing substantive rights. Also stated in The Legal Right of Business e1 are the differences between public laws and private laws. Our text book The Legal Right of Business states: Public laws are those derived from some government entity (legislature/executive and administrative regulations (state or federal administrative agencies). Private laws are recognized as binding between two parties even though no specific statute or regulation provides for the rights of the parties. The most common example is a contract for services. Laws have always been created in order to keep the balance between companies and employee’s even as possible. Laws that are created keep the interests of both parties as a priority.…
