3.1 LOCAL STUDY A. Global Destiny Cable

Destiny Cable Inc. was founded on January 1995. It embarked on marketing promotion through Solid Group Inc. by offering bundles services. On February 3, 1993 the name of the company was changed into Global Cable Inc. and was given a provisional authority to provide cable television services. Global Cable Inc. was allowed to operate and maintain CATV system in the municipality of San Juan and in the cities of Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasay, Manila, Marikina, Paranaque and Muntinlupa. In November 2003 Destiny Cable Inc. formed a partnership with Global Cable to further strengthen and systematize its cable television ventures. The two companies merge to form Global Destiny Cable which perceived to b the closest competitors of SkyCable in Metropolitan Manila. Global Destiny Cable headquarter was located in 2285 Solid House Building, Pasong Tamo Extension, 1231 Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Global Destiny Cable was the second largest Cable TV Company in the Philippines. The Global Destiny Cable use the TeleBill CATV automated billing system.

TeleBill CATV has the following features: * The system keeps and maintains the records of subscribers. * Stores detailed information of subscribers. * Tracks the subscriber’s charges and payments. * The system can produce a host of reports, which are all parameter-driven. * Generates monthly invoices invoice statements for cable television subscriber.

3.2 FOREIGN STUDY
A. MEPCO (Multan Electric Power Company)

MEPCO is one of the biggest distributions Company of WAPDA. The electricity supply service in Pakistan was initially undertaken by different agencies, both in public and private sectors, in different areas. In order to provide for the combined and harmonized development of the water and power resources, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) was created in 1958 through WAPDA Act, 1958.
The charter of MEPCO is to provide the reliability, quality and safety of electric power supply to the consumers in its jurisdiction. Multan Area Electricity Board was recognized into one such corporatorized entity under the name Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) with effect from 14-05-1998, with the aim of commercialization and eventually privatization.

Billing System of Multan Electric Power Company features the following: * Speed up the Billing process. * Recovery report generation is speed up so that action should be taken early. * Increase database capability. * The schedule generating process will be automated. * Automation in the billing of services of the organization.

B. J & F LTRSHOP SERVICES CO. J & F LTRSHOP located at 8540 247TH St. Bellerose, New York 11426. J & F LTRSHOP started its online promotion of the services that they offer in 2010. The J & F LTRSHOP offers mailing services. It is a direct mail services dealer serving the Bellerose, New York area.

J & F LTRSHOP supports automated billing for services performed using LTRSHOP.
LTRSHOP has the following features for the billing activities. * Collection of billing information during LTRSHOP operation. LTRSHOP processes that are performed for customers include recording the event and related statistics in system logs. * Accepting changes to the information * Printing invoices * Storing printed invoices for future reference * Recalling previously created invoices and allowing changes and corrections * Reprinting stored invoices

3.3 SUMMARY OF FINDINGS To improve the proposed Automated Billing System of Promenade Digital Experience (PDE Company) the following features are adopted from:
LOCAL STUDY * Stores detailed information of the transaction. * Generate monthly statements of billing transactions availed by the clients.
FOREIGN STUDY * Recovery report generation is speed up so that action should be taken early. * Increase database capability. * Accepting changes to the information. * Recalling previously created invoices and allowing changes and corrections.
